mister leon gaulen I got a first class ticket to a night all alone And a front row seat up right by the phone Cause you're always on my mind And I'm running out of time Shaking a nearly empty camel box, a few delectable cigarettes popped out the top. Gingerly the dark haired man grabbed one, and after closing the lid returned the box to his brown leather jacket’s pocket. Lighter already on the table, it wasn’t long before the cancer stick was on the side of his mouth and lit at the end. Sitting outside on a black metal chair, next to a metallic table that somehow took all of nature’s beatings; he was a way from anyone else within La Vie de France that might be so disgusted by his habit. With shops switching to ‘no smoking zones’ he was running out of places to proceed with his freedom to smoke. It was becoming increasingly annoying to run into a place and the manager confront him, pointing to what should have been an obvious sign that it wasn’t allowed in bold red.
Leaning back in the chair, he removed the cancer stick and blew out a cloud of smoke with slight frustration. Other than being isolated from the rest of the world, his day wasn’t going terrible. He easily aced another of his law exams – as if he had expected any less – and finally received money to a bet at one of his friend’s downfall. Yep, everything was flowing perfectly. Though he hated being alone like this. It only was the foreshadowing of a very boring afternoon to come.
Green eyes watched as people entered and left the coffee shop, always in pairs or with groups of friends. It made his eyes go bitter, slightly envious, of being so by himself. Where was Evans lately? His best friend seemed to be blown off the face of the earth by how much he was avoiding Leon. Well, maybe not avoiding him, but too busy to even drop a line to say ‘hello’. If he was here they could be have so much fun conning the people in the shop that he was a brilliant actor or to buy the pair of them dinner. God, what he do to find that kid right now. He was going to die if this boredom was prolonged any longer. He would have found more interesting things at the mall. Even the drama and gossip that whirled around the school would be satisfying at the moment.
Pushing himself up on the chair, he grabbed the almost cold coffee that he had forgotten about on the table. Picking up the cup he pressed his lips on the rim and tipped the cup. He had hoped even cold the coffee would taste good, but was extremely wrong in that assumption. Face contorting with disgust, his nose wrinkled and he put the cigarette back into his mouth. Maybe that rush of nicotine would wire his brain to forget that awful taste. Getting up, he grabbed the coffee and headed towards the trash can. As his black shoes, tops hidden under a pair of jeans, tapped on the ground, he wondered if he was better heading out once he got to the green bin. No one was coming and Evans wasn’t going to pop out of nowhere.
Dropping the now repulsive liquid into the garbage, he turned around to be slammed against the shoulder by a passerby. Green eyes narrowed as his body turned to see a first year take a few steps forward, glanced at his vicious looking face, and increased up his speed. Leon wasn’t one to get overdramatic, but sheesh. If he wasn’t worried about his cigarette falling out of his lips he would give the fresh-meat a piece of his mind. No manners these days. He couldn’t spare an ‘I am sorry,’? Putting his small amount of anger on cracking his fingers, Leo exited on to the sidewalk and walked nearly a block when he felt his side pockets. “Shit,” he muttered, taking the stick out of his mouth and flicking it onto the street while he checked his other pockets. He had left his trusty lighter on the table.
It didn’t take him even a second to swivel on the balls of his feet and begin a brisk trek back. He had that silver lighter for years. Some kids cherished teddy-bears and baby blankets. That’s the relationship between him and his lighter. He wouldn’t be able to sleep well if he knew that someone else had their crummy hands over it. In the front of La Vie de France again, he stopped mid step when a familiar face was caught in the corner of his eye near the building. Or had the face just passed by him? He had turned his head so quickly he didn’t know for sure.

i'll be your doctor, i'll be your cure. i'll be your medicine and more. It was almost too perfect of a day. Aja's friends had invited her out and the small group of second years and third years were wandering around, shopping here and there. Brunettes and blondes walked together, talking and giggling. And then there was Aja. She stood out among the group. The school knew her as the Theatre Scene Queen and she took that role to heart. She could be the queen of theatre, seeing as she spent so much time in it. She didn't care though. She didn't care about names or titles or cliques. She always seemed to just be having the time of her life and being the life of the party wherever she went. She stood out with her funky, cute outfits. She always had the hair that was a little more teased than the rest. She didn't care. It was what made her, well....her.
She walked with her friends, strutting down the sidewalk as though it was the next runway at New York fashion week. It was how they all walked. Some were stuck up, some were bitches, but there was Aja in the middle. She had those days were she could be both, but she was also nice and a bit too overconfident for her own good. However, it balanced her out because she could also be the sweetest person you ever met. Her thin, muscular legs were covered in her favorite pair of black skinny jeans, and her lean torso had her favorite blue tube top with a white camisole underneath that made it look like it had straps. She wore a Juicy Couture chain around her neck which sparkled because of the diamonds engraved into it. It made her feel rich, but she didn't have to because she knew she was.
Her brown hair was teased and a sky-blue ribbon had been clipped into the side of her hair. Her feet had been adorned with a pair of black flats with a cute buckle on them, making her feet really tiny, even though they honestly were. She didn't care though. Her Hello Kitty Sidekick was held firmly in her hands, waiting for her to text someone. Anyone. A few bags hung from her elbow, signifying that a certain someone had gone shopping, especially at Juicy Couture. A pretty smile was planted on her face as she laughed at her friends' remarks about the shops and the boys they passed. Her green eyes flickered over to her favorite coffee shop and instantly, her smile fell for a moment, but she faked it. Aja excused herself, lying about wanting to get some coffee.
Her friends left her and went to shop in the small boutique, leaving her across the street from la vie de france coffee shop. She groaned silently as she watched a dark-haired boy collide with another. The boy didn't reply, but then suddenly turned on his heel and went back to the table he came from. She saw him pick up something and she already knew what it was. His lighter. She looked out for cars before crossing across the street, trying to move at a quick pace so she wasn't run over by anyone. Aja saw him turn and she was afraid he saw her, but he made no notice of it if he did. She came up to him, rolling her eyes as the scent of cigarettes filled her nose and mind. She hated when he spoked. She knew Leon too well.
He was her longest relationship before the big blowout fight when she found out he cheated on her and lied about it. She couldn't deal with it, but they were still friends...especially with benefits. He was like the Chuch Bass of her life and she was Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl, her favorite tv show. She sighed to herself and opened her mouth. "Hey bitch. Miss me ?"
she teased. A small smirk crept onto her face as she waited for him to turn. He was still the same, cute Leon and she missed that but she didn't want to be with him anymore. He was just her friend now. Her friend with benefits and she couldn't do anything about that. Aja ran a hand through her hair and pocketed her phone, looking right at him. Her green eyes moved from his face to the lighter and then back.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

mister leon gaulen I got a first class ticket to a night all alone And a front row seat up right by the phone Cause you're always on my mind And I'm running out of time At her voice, his stomach twisted for a second before relaxing once again. She always gave him that feeling when she surprised him; the guilt of what broke their relationship always echoing in his mind. Well, maybe it was the guilt for the lack of regret he felt about how he pretty much backstabbed her. He did feel bad, slightly, that he had bashed her trust and maybe even the respect she had for him the second he began cheating on her. At least it hadn’t been to heart wrenching for him. After all, he had been the one that was kissing someone else behind her back. It was obvious the love he had felt for her had deteriorated weeks in advance of the eventful day she caught him within his lie. Oddly enough, he got off scot free. She was pissed off for awhile, but with such a bad past, you’d think she’d hate his face. Somehow Aja’s uniqueness, that had initially attracted him to her, had no bounds…
Green eyes looked her over quickly, remembering all her features well. They periodically settled upon the bags she carried nostalgically, once being the person holding them as he ran after her as she toured the mall. Good times… The pain in his belly hadn’t been noticeable on his face at all. If he hadn’t chosen law, he would have excelled well in Aja’s department of acting. Instead of the pain, he smirked at her lovely way of greeting him. “Of course, you know me. I cry every night for you, baby cakes,”
he replied with playful sarcasm, a small pout curving on his lips. Very soon it was replaced by a grin, truly glad to see her. Maybe the day would take a pleasant turn. Lighter in hand, he placed it in the same pocket with his cigarettes. He would have taken another out, but he didn’t want to immediately chase Aja away. Like most of the students at Darmon, she wasn’t too keen of what he took so much pleasure in. After being with this girl for such an extent of time, he had tried to cut down on the habit. Yes, had had done it for her. The arrogant soul had looked past his own happiness and had been close to actually stopping, until well… Armageddon. Then he began speeding through packs like they were a necessity with every meal. With no motivation, he had every right too. “I was about to ask you what you’re doing here, but it’s pretty obvious you’ve been burning plastic.” Girls and their shopping. It was like an addiction. Letting his playful tone gradually shift to more serious and interested he asked softly, “How’ve you been?” His green eyes held sincere interest, wondering what she had been up too. A long time ago they had always talked, but now there were such bigger gaps in time between conversations he felt extremely out of the loop. Which wasn’t unexpected. They were both in two different cliques; he wasn’t exactly scene, if that fact wasn’t obvious enough by his attire. The impulse to let his hand touch her soft face or lay on her shoulder was becoming increasingly aggravating. Still, he controlled himself for the moment. Usually he wouldn’t hesitate to do what he wanted, but he knew it would be better to first test the waters. The only thing he hated about women were their mood swings. Men that he hung out with - even been attracted to - really weren’t all that unpredictable and followed a nice pattern. Women could love you one day and hate you the next. So far, Aja still looked at him as a friend, but he couldn’t be certain. The last thing he needed was to upset her or get slapped across the face for not restraining his hands from sliding down her arm or pecking his gentle lips on her forehead. i need the product of your fears in the form of tears, it's the only way i can survive. green eyes, blue skies, natural disasters when she cries. There was a long pause as he didn't seem to acknowledge her right away. Suddenly, Aja wondered if this was such a good idea to see her ex. There were butterflies suddenly and her heart was bouncing around. She was scared out of her mind to be talking to him again, seeing as it had been a few months. She had always missed him, secretly. Of course, Aja would never admit that. She was one of those girls that dated outside of her clique and inside, too. She was the self-proclaimed scene queen, but also the one that all students at Darmon knew about. They agreed that she was the scene queen, seeing as she had been here since her first year and came looking like a mess. Well, that was what her father always had told her, but she didn't care. She always wondered why he even bothered living at home anymore.
She shook the thoughts out of her mind and glanced up at the sign before looking back at the boy that had finally turned around. His cute face, those green eyes, and the clothing all flooded back into her memories. He had always been her favorite boy on campus because of that adorable face and smile. Leon had captured her attention, and apparently she had captured his back then. She had always wondered what it was like to be with him again, but she had to drop it. She had already found ou that he was bisexual and that just wouldn't do for her right now. Just imagine thinking if your boyfriend thought that the barista boy at Starbucks was just as cute as you thought he was. She sighed inaudibly and smirked at his comment.
He was too cute. The little comments he gave her, but one thing stung her slightly. She didn't let her smile drop for a second, but that word. Baby Cakes. It had always been her nickname from him and she missed it. A lot. Stop focusing on him like that, Aja. She felt even weirder thinking to herself as she shifted the weight of her bags and flipped her Sidekick open when it vibrated in her hands. Her response to her friend's question was short and vague, hoping they'd get the point that she wanted to be alone. She snapped it shut and looked around the place. She watched as he put the lighter away, making her slightly amused. She had noticed he toned down the smoking when they dated, but now it was as if everywhere she went at school she could smell it secretly lingering, hoping that no one could scent it out.
Aja always knew one person that it had to belong to, and that was Leon Gaulen. She giggled at his playful, sarcastic response about her shopping bags. She looked at them. It wasn't anything too pricey. Ok, maybe the Juicy Couture and Betsey Johnson, but that was about it. Aja could afford that stuff, but one thing she couldn't stand was articles of clothing over two hundred dollars. She'd rather shop at Ross if she had to or Walmart for a pair of skinny jeans. They just had to make her look good. She didn't care about the brand of jeans. She did, however, care about her shirts and accessories. His voice was soft as he questioned her and she felt captivated by him again. Aja looked innocent as she looked up, gazing at him lovingly, though it was hard to tell.
"I've been ok. Kind of lonely, but I'll manage. Really stressed though. All this acting has driven me insane with auditions and rehearsals." She chuckled at her last statement. She hated the insanity around the theater. It was way too busy, but it had to be done. She had already landed quite a few roles, despite her "scene" look. She could easily change without wearing any makeup and re-doing her hair. It wasn't too big of a deal for Aja to look the part. She eyed him, feeling the urge to take his hand. She couldn't ignore it and if she backed off, Aja was used to rejection from guys. After all, she was quick at rebounding, but she had been settling down lately. Her hand reached slowly for his and she took it in her own, interlacing her fingers with his.
"How have you been, yourself?" Her question and voice were both genuine. Her eyes were locked on his, despite her hand holding his. She hoped he wouldn't flinch or back away from her, leaving her lonely again.

mister leon gaulen I got a first class ticket to a night all alone And a front row seat up right by the phone Cause you're always on my mind And I'm running out of time As she giggled he felt his smile widen and eyes fall to the side towards the rushing cars coasting up and down the streets. “God, I never imagined how much I’ve missed hearing you laugh,”
he said sweetly, letting one of his hands go through his hair. If she wasn’t looking at him he would have allowed a shiver to go down his spine when he heard that lovely sound. It was just so shocking. Like when you’re deprived of coffee for months and then all the sudden you drink a tall cup. You love the rush of caffeine, but you lose control. That’s how he felt whenever she chuckled or laughed. That sound was the greatest thing he could ever hear, even better than music or a compliment towards him. Deep down, he liked making her happy. Even if they were broken, with puzzle pieces missing, her giggles brought back some of those memories and attempted to heal old wounds. When she began texting on her phone, it gave him a chance to look back towards her and allow him to soak in his favorite features of her. Her dark hair, those green eyes she didn’t appreciate enough, and her adorable youthful face. He could never imagine her getting old and for the longest time just thought she was completely perfect. Even when everyone pointed out flaws, he saw past them. That was all part of being love struck, wasn’t it? Head over heels, heart thumping, throat drying, foot-tripping, word stuttering, in love. He missed that feeling. Since everything shattered he had crushes, but their relationship would definitely be in his memory for a very long time. Realizing she had finished texting, he blinked a bit and pretended like he hadn’t been staring. Before she could catch him he quickly replied to her answer to his question. “That’s sounds fun.” he smirked again, “Get any call backs or good parts?” He knew how much she loved acting, almost as much as he enjoyed law. It looked like it would be a very pleasurable career. Taking on different roles, dressing up, and listening to a loud applause. The fourth year didn’t need another ego boost, but he would so love being in her department for the applause. Then again, he did get as much enjoyment from law. Getting into arguments with other wannabe lawyers while practicing in mock trials was very rewarding. Especially when you won a case. To Leon, it was like winning the lottery. Feeling her warm hand around his all of the sudden, he couldn’t hide the glimmer of approval in his eyes. Unlike her voice, this contact didn’t make him feel uneasy or act like a bashful moron. Softly Leo squeezed it, and then let his thumb move around in a circle motion against hers. This was the ‘okay’ he needed that confirmed she didn’t look at him bitterly; an emotion that would have horrified him if it was true. Remembering she had asked him a question, he actually thought about it for a few short moments. What had he been up to? “Hmm… I’ve been doing pretty well. Law comes to me like a second nature, so I’m not too worried about that. The days though are sort of blending together and I wish they would slow down. I hate running around the campus and not being able to just sit and take a breath.” Today was a wonderful break from his routine. Well, now that Aja was here… Looking into her eyes, he felt locked and the whole world around them disappearing. It was just the two of them, no cars, no outside noises, no problems, just them and this moment. The feeling of being just with her, holding hands, brought back a lot of past memories. A scrap book full of pictures, a journal of inside jokes. Taking a step closer to her, closing the gap, he let himself touch her cheek with his finger tips and let it move gently down to till he got to her collarbone. He wanted to be sure this was real, not a terrible dream where his mind tortured him with illusions. After that soft touch he moved his hand back to his side, his eyes that had been trailing his hand returning to her eyes. This was real. “You wanna do something? Maybe grab a cup of coffee, catch up, or maybe go some place else? I don’t mind what we do, purely your choice, baby cakes.” he said, the words coming off his tongue with his custom charm. “Unless you’re in a rush, I wouldn’t want to keep you.” At the last line he smiled kindly, showing her he didn’t want to push her into doing anything. If she had other commitments, he wouldn’t be the arrogant guy he usually was and tell her to cancel them. This was a very delicate situation and Aja wasn’t just another girl he happened to bump into.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

no one is telling me, the speed i should be travelling, so watch me take the lead. She watched his smile widen, making her feel like a real person again. He was too cute. Those green eyes fell away from her and she felt like herself again. She felt like everything in this world was back to normal. His comment about her laugh was cute and she smiled sincerely at him, gazing at him with her loving eyes that had been missing for God knows how long. They had been like the perfect couple when they were together and now it felt as though the two had just been long lost friends. She had to forget him though. She couldn't have him cheating on her again. But then again, she hadn't had a real boyfriend since him and her were over. She screwed around sometimes, but never actually went as far as to lose her virginity with any of them. Even though, secretly, she had. But she didn't count being raped. She shuddered at the thought and blinked blankly as he questioned her.
"I got one. But we don't start filming for another two months."
She smiled at him. It was something that everyone knew about Aja. She was an actress. She couldn't do anything else besides act. Yeah, Aja was told she was talented in many departments, but when it came to musical theatre, she stood out above the rest. Or just film acting. She had a powerful voice, but she could change it into anything a director wanted. Except, maybe a man's voice. But she didn't ever try out for those kinds of parts. She had just tried out for the role of a teenage drunk and oddly enough, she got the part. However, her character was two-faced and boy did she have experience with that. Most of all the girls here at Darmon were two-faced. All she had to do was act like them. She shook her head, realizing she had gotten off track. She couldn't remember what she just said. She smiled and nodded at his answer to her question. A small shock ran up her spine as he held her hand, rubbing his finger on it in small circles. A bit of color rushed to her cheeks, but it was cute and innocent, not creepy and awkward. She had always known Leon was good at law. It was as if he had a sixth sense just for it. He was amazing. She had seen some of his trials on her spare time and he never ceased to amaze her. She was proud of him. Proud of what he did, but now that they were over, she wasn't so proud of the constant smoking. She wanted to be the girl to change, and she had been...until she caught him in that big fat lie. She couldn't get her mind off that thought today. She watched him silently as he effortlessly moved closer to her. Her green eyes locked on his own green eyes. She couldn't move and she loved it so much. She loved it so much that it hurt her on the inside. She missed being with Leon, but they both knew it was over. A rush of memories swam through her mind. Those days at school, at the park, at this very coffee shop. It was all over the place, kind of. She shivered slightly as his hand touched her cheek. She couldn't help it. Her eyes flickered slowly shut and she exhaled inaudibly. She waited for it to be over, cherishing it all the while. When his hand fell away from Aja, her eyes immediately flew open. She gazed at him, her eyes still locked with his. A small smile tugged at her lips. She couldn't refuse the offer. He was the reason why she left her friends to come over here. The full grin appeared on her face and she nodded. "We can go anywhere you want." She wanted to let him pick. She always made decisions, usually anyways. She wanted to let him decide this time. She giggled as he called her baby cakes. It was so adorable and she definitely missed being called it. You could tell. She brushed her brown bangs out of her eyes. Looking around, people didn't seem to notice her, but she spotted a girl from her school eyeing them. She didn't care though. Screw them. She was always going to be the only girl that looked perfect on Leon's arm.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

»Leon» I got a first class ticket to a night all alone And a front row seat up right by the phone Cause you're always on my mind And I'm running out of time Leon wasn’t bothered by Aja’s blushing, only grinning so his white teeth gleamed and enjoying how much more adorable she looked. He was always a little concerned on how he made her feel, but he definitely wasn’t extremely self-conscious about every action he did. The law student wasn’t one to think so far ahead or plan out his actions and act them out robotically. Overall, he just went with the flow and what he most wanted. In this occasion, he was not totally self-centered. He cared for Aja and looked at her as if she was on his level, which did contrast how he acted around new acquaintances. With them, he usually lifted his nose a little higher and thought he was the best thing out there. This impression only radiated more off him when he moved around with confidence. Rarely someone could tear him down or push him around like a helpless child.
Still close to her, he frowned playfully at how she was letting him choose. He loved being in control, but had hoped she would be more willing to toss in her input. While they were dating she had chose most of the events, so he had gotten pretty accustom to it. Nonetheless the smile returned, his quick mind already sending him a few potential ideas. “Alright then, it’ll be a surprise. One thing before we go though.”
His next move with her so close was very smooth and precise. With little effort he leaned over towards her, lowering his head so he was right by her neck, and let his warm lips gently touch her skin. It was brief, but it would give him an idea on how far she’d let him go. While he began to move back, he let his free hand slide to her shoulder, lacing around her bags, and carefully removing them from her embrace. As if hadn’t kissed her, he stood there with an alluring grin and stating causally with a shrug, “I wouldn’t be gentleman if I allowed you to carry your truck load of merchandise.” He didn’t mind holding them for her at all. A few bags wouldn’t break his arm and he could only guess his act might gain some brownie points from Aja. “Shall we?” Knowing she’d more than likely follow him, he began walking, at first a slow pace not wanting to drag her along like a dog on a leash, and then increasing it comfortably. The whole time he held her hand, while the bags swayed gently by his side. He was silent the whole trip there, which wasn’t entirely long, and there was a hint of amusement in his eyes. Being with this woman for such an extent of time had given him a power that every guy in Darmon envied. Knowledge. He knew exactly what she liked, what she usually did, and what she valued the most. It almost made him the perfect best friend, if for not the fact that he had just crossed the boundaries of friendship with the kiss. Was he ashamed to have friends with benefits? You’re kidding right? He adored being with Aja, even if the feelings they shared were no match for how they had felt ‘once upon a time’. Leon wasn’t looking forward to her finding another boyfriend. Aja was an independent girl and he wouldn’t control her, as he had no right too, but he wondered if he’d be bias towards the other guys she considered. Would he outwardly despise them? Would he try to ruin her newest relationship because he disliked seeing her happy with anyone else but him? Maybe, maybe not. He’d rather not think of the future and instead focus on the present. He normally didn’t like prolonged silences, but this one would create an air around him that would add mystery. By not talking he was plain out saying he wasn’t going to give her hints of where they were going or what they were doing. Taking her across another street they were finally at the entrance of the park, close to where people walked on the dirt trails, kids played around fountains, and vendors took advantage of the hungry children by selling them sweets. It wasn’t entirely crowded today, which was perfect. He was sure if they wanted to find a quieter spot later, they could find it with ease. Then again, so far if didn’t appear like Aja didn’t like being seen with him publicly. He doubted there would be any problems. Once getting to a bench he stopped, setting the bags down and releasing his hand around hers. Instead, he put them on her shoulders and, if she allowed him to, spun her around so she was facing the same direction he was. Leaning close to her ear he whispered sweetly, “I’ll be right back. Don’t go anywhere!” With that, he let his hands slide off her shoulders and walked off to find an ice cream vendor while leaving her to her thoughts.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
