i thought that I could always count on you, i thought that nothing could come between us two.
Lacey's text message had been somewhat of a suprise to Adam. It had been quite cryptic, containing no information that Adam could decipher, anyways. Lacey just wanted to meet Adam for coffee to tell him something... and this made Adam nervous. Of course he had no reason to be yet, as he didn't know the news, but he still felt uneasy. What if she was giving him bad news? What if he had cancer? Wait, wouldn't that be a doctors job to tell that...? Wondering what the subject was today, Adam had walked over to their meeting spot, which Adam had decided would be La Vie En France (She wanted to get coffee, so he picked here. Starbucks would be too public for Adam if it was bad news).
Heading inside the small cafe-like place, Adam was hit with the instant wonderful aroma of pastries. Well, if Lacey was going to be delivering bad news, she had picked the right spot - tons of very good food nearby just to make anyone feel better. Sighing to himself, Adam took a seat by the window and tapped his feet against the table to the tune in his ears. His iPod was blasting 'Carry on my Wayward Son' by 'Kansas' at this particular moment. Glancing briefly at the menu but having no intentions of ordering yet, Adam considered the possibilities of what Lacey wanted to tell him.
Of course it could be good news, and Adam was worrying about nothing. But with Adam's sweet nature also came the nature of worrying. Deciding that this was out of his hands and he could not control it, Adam instantly become optimistic about the situation. He smiled and the song on his iPod changed (on shuffle of course) to Journey's 'Wheel in the Sky'. Although not too much more optimistic than the previous installment, it would have to do. Now if 'Don't Stop Believing' had come on, Adam might have stopped his worries altogether.
When the waitress finally noticed him and came over, Adam sent her away saying that he was 'waiting for someone. Well, it wasn't suprising that he was here faster than Lacey - he was a very fast walker, and his music increased his pace. Tapping his feet once again, Adam pulled out his cell phone at the sound of a text message, and responded to it quickly before shutting it and shoving his cellphone and his iPod both into the pockets of his skinny jeans. He would have put them in the pockets of his brown zip-up hoodie, but that looked weird.
Where was she...?

Lacey rose Watson
The day was pretty chilly and Lacey was trying to put this off as long as possible, she wasn’t looking forward to telling one of her longest friends that she had let a certain secret slip, to someone he didn’t exactly like. Well this should be interesting. The nearer she came to the coffee shop to meet Adam, the more nervous she became. How was he going to react? Yell at her? Ignore her and walk out? These were only a couple questions running through her head at the moment. If only she could see into the future, things would be a lot simpler, because then she knew what was going to happen. Of course Adam had no idea what she was going to tell him since her text message was so short so Lacey could easily change what she was going to say before she even got there. Although then she’d have to keep it to herself longer and then she’d probably break down sooner or later.
Even though lacey had many layers on, she was still pretty cold and couldn’t wait till she got to the café and drink some coffee. Although Starbucks was her favorite, she did sometimes decide to go to this little coffee shop it was cozy and had yummy little pastries. Pulling the phone out of the pocket of her jeans, she turned it off, which she rarely did since her phone was like her life but she didn’t want any excuses not to tell Adam. She was probably making too big of a deal out of all this, but he had trusted her with his secret and she probably just ruined it for herself. Soon enough she was pulling the door to the café open.
Raising the sunglasses off her eyes and placing them over her head, she looked around the room for Adam. Sure enough there he was, lacey was usually late so it was no surprise that he was already there. Taking her time, she made her way over to the table he was sitting at. Lacey already hated herself for letting his secret slip but she was pretty sure she was going to hate herself even more after their little ‘catch up.’ She pulled out the chair directly across from him so she could say it to his face instead of looking away. Hey, how’s it going? She said a fake smile plastered on her lips as she tried to remain as normal as possible so he couldn’t tell something was up, even though her probably already could.

we said as long as we would stick together, we’d be alright, we’d be okay.
Pathetic fallocy seemed the be at it's best as the weather mimiced Adam's moud: worried, anxious, basically... cloudy, and chilly. He wasn't sure of how he was feeling, but he knew that it wasn't a good feeling - the knot in the pit in his stomach proved that to himself. He felt that he either needed to scream or throw up, even though he hadn't any idea what it was that Lacey wanted to talk about. Adam knew that he could get over it, though.
Hearing the bells over the door ring, Adam looked over and saw that Lacey was coming in the door. It wasn't suprising that she was late - she usually was, his friendship with her had proved that. Even when they were kids, she was always late for school, late for appointments, late to movies... whatever it was, she could screw up the time. Not that it was a bad thing, but Adam had gotten in the habit of telling her to be there 10 minutes before she need be - then she would be on time. So far, it had worked.
When she came up towards him, Adam smiled, easing the knot in his stomach. She had a worried look on her face, but Adam managed to be optimistic about the situation, and was sure that he could find the sun in any news that Lacey could cough up to him. Or, atlesat he could try. After she spoke, Adam responded quickly. "Hey Lacey. I'm okay, just pretty swamped with school... what about you?" Adam decided that he wouldn't probe the words from Lacey, she could tell him on her own terms.
(so short... x.x sorry!)
