&&SKYler lee mancini'when words fail, music speaks' Skyler adored his free period. It was the one time during the day that he felt like he could get anything done. He would sneak off somewhere with one of his instruments or something and practice or perhaps compose. It all depended on how he felt that day. He had several places he loved to sneak off too, but his favorite was most definitely the auditorium. The problem was that someone usually beat him to it...but today he had been lucky. When he had got to the auditorium it was empty and he had quickly ran and picked up one of his instruments before heading back to it to claim it for himself.
Today he had chosen to work with his violin. Well...one of the Academy's few electric violins that was. He loved the sound of them...they could play so many more exciting songs then a normal violin. Not to mention there were so many ways that you could manipulate the sound with the peddle set that Skyler had bought. It took him a little bit once he got back into the auditorium to get set up.
Skyler dragged one of the amps out of the corner and preceded to hook up the violin to it along with the peddle set. He then snatched a stand from the corner also and dug around in his messenger bag for a moment before he found his folder that was jam packed with his violin music. He tossed it up onto the stand and opened it, flipping through the pages. His eyes quickly took in each of the song titles as he tried to pick out one that would be interesting to play.
He finally pulled out an unnamed piece. It was specially composed for an electric violin with the use of a peddle set. It was a very fast kind of pop genre sounding song. Like something you would here on the popular teenage radio stations. Skyler just picked it because he felt in a sort of upbeat mood. He tucked the violin in the hollow of his neck as he raised the bow and let it slide across the strings once to test everything out. A beautiful sound came shot from the amp and filled the auditorium.
Well it was obviously working, so Skyler went straight into the song. It started out slowly, but it didn't take long for it to pick up into an obnoxiously fast pace. It was made up of many quickly and sharply played chords that gave it a whole fast beat while quick rhythms and patters were spaced in between. It sounded horribly complicated..but Skyler played it with out much trouble.
As the song picked up even more his fingers flew across the strings and the boy slipped and slid all across the strings. The song could be compared to some sort of techno beat song..which amazingly was possible to play on an electric violin. Then Skyler started using the pedals. He could change the sound to nearly anything. Suddenly not only the sound of a violin filled the auditorium, but it was now matched with the sound of a guitar. Such amazing technology.
By now Skyler had his eyes closed, paying attention to nothing but his music.

there you go, you're always so right it's all a big show, it's all about you
For some reason of which Adam could not fathom, from the moment he woke up in the morning he had the gnawing feeling in the pit of his stomach that today would be 'one of those days'. One of those days, you ask? Maybe a day filled with lollipops, sunshine, or maybe some free teddy bears? Well if you assumed that any of these are true (and why would they be?) then you were surely mistaken. Adam had decide that from the moment his alarm went off twenty minutes late that it was going to be one of those days - a horrible day, the kind that you try to avoid. The kind that you know are going to start off on a high note but that will surely end on a very sour, low note. They were not fun.
So, Adam decided to treat today like a monday, and what he had learned from his favourite show as a child was that you did everything to make your day feel better. Wear your favourite clothes, pick out your favourite foods for lunch, or do your favourite activity after school so that you had something to look forward to. Adam had picked all of these options but the latter. After his rushed shower, he had chosen to wear a bright blue fall out boy t-shirt and his favourite pair of worn light blue jeans. His favourite checkered vans shoes were thrown into the mix as he rushed out the door of his dorm, his roommates all having left earlier. Damn them.
Classes, for the most part, had been alright. Except for math - he had always hated the subject, and was never very good at it. This was proved by the teachers 'suprise pop quiz' that she dumped on the students. Adam was sure that he had failed it, as he only remembered some of the formulas and he had forgotten his calculator. Algebra was the worst part of math in the world, in his opinion, and an opinion that he gladly shared to their teacher, who would look over and scowl whenever he mentioned his hatred of the subject. Adam figured that we all had calculators, so why did we need to learn this stuff? There was no way on earth that he would remember any of this past graduation.
His lunch period was what he was sure to be utterly boring. He couldn't sit with his girlfriend, as they were still a secret (although Adam did have a looming feeling that it wouldn't be a secret for much longer) and his best friends were nowhwere to be found, which saddened the musician. Seeing as he didn't want to stay in the cafeteria by himself (he wasn't that much of a loner) after grabbing a sandwich and scarfing it down, he set out to roam the schoolgrounds in search of something to do. Plugging his iPod headphones into his ears, Adam proceeded to blast 'These Things' by 'She Wants Revenge'. Adam loved how the lead singers voice sounded when he sang this song.
Walking and listening, everything was pretty much normal until Adam decided to stop into the auditorium. He loved the place - the acoustics were amazing in that room. And he could always find one of his friends sitting around in here. So when he entered, he wasn't suprised to see Skylar playing the voilin. Switching off his iPod, Adam smirked as he recognized the well-played tune bouncing off the walls. Adam stuffed his music player into his pocket and proceeded to walk further into the auditorium, glad that he had found one of his closest friends to spend his lunch hour with. Of course he knew that it was Sky's free period, but whatever. They both didn't have classes.
When the piece was coming to a close, Adam had pretty much reached his destination - right infront of the stage, perhaps ten feet away from where Sky was playing, but he was on ground level and Sky was not. Putting his arms onto the stage, Adam listened to the song until it had finished properly, and then smiled. "Hey. Great tune you got there."
