'when words fail, music speaks'
What a horribly..boring day. Skyler was fairly disappointed. The day had been so uneventful...it had been so normal. He had been in his classes all day...and they had been particularly dull. Skyler's music lessons had a bad habit of being that way for him. He was quick when it came to music and he had no problem learning its finer points. That is why he hated the long lectures the teachers would give on all of the rules of music when Skyler understood it after the first few sentences...and by the end of the lecture, Skylar was always itching to actually play something and put what he had learned to practice.[/size]
That was the time when Skyler felt as though he was truly learning. When he was practicing with his instruments or his voice. Also, he felt such a rush when he was attempting to write a piece of music or the lyrics to go along with it. Though, the classes today had dragged along and left barely any time at all for these things that he loved the most. So, Skyler was thankful that it was now time for his break. He planned on heading to the cafeteria and having a bit of a snack. He wasn't hungry enough for a full lunch or anything. Plus, Skyler wanted some extra time to be able to get back to the music building and fit in some practicing or work on that one song he had been working on writing for awhile now. Unless something better came along to occupy his extra time.
It didn't take Skyler long to reach the Darmon Academy cafeteria. Once inside he waited in the fairly long line and simply got a small bowl of pudding and a can of lemon lime soda. Skyler held the spoon in his mouth, the bowl in his right hand, and the can of soda in his left hand as he headed over to one of the few empty tables that was left in the cafeteria. It was fairly crowded at the moment..and Skyler was lucky to have found an empty table. He didn't feel like having to talk to people at the moment, but when did he ever feel like it?
Skyler was a fairly shy guy...so the idea of walking up to a table full of people and asking if he could sit with them did not appeal to him at all.
He placed the bowl down on the table once he reached it before sitting the can of soda down beside it and sitting down at one of the table's empty chairs. Skyler then pulled the silver spoon out of his mouth and scooped up a small bite of the chocolate pudding, popping it in his mouth and swallowing the creamy sweet treat before he gently placed the spoon back into the bowl of chocolate goodness. Skyler then let his right hand slip down to a pocket of his jeans and fish out a folded up piece of paper and a pen. He unfolded it and spread it out on the table beside his snack. There were words written across it...many of them were crossed out and changed. They were song lyrics.
Skyler placed the pen on top of the paper before he popped open the can of lemon lime soda and taking a sip of the the sour liquid, placing it by the bowl afterwards. Skyler then snatched up the black ballpoint pen and stared at the paper for a moment before crossing out a few words and writing new words above them. By the time these lyrics were ready, one would barely be able to read them from all the times that Skyler had marked out words and replaced them. Usually, only Skyler could make sense out of the finished product.
