Well it was 3... -ish. Mariah was pretty sure of that, as she picked up her rarely used cell phone to check the time. She sighed, she wasn't really bored, not really, just waiting on Dawson right now. She felt like a loser right now, she had her father drive her to the local Starbucks to meet up with Dawson and that was only the tip of the iceberg of why she felt like such a loser. She ran a hand through her hair, sighing again. She had basically 'challanged' Dawson to meet a random girl, mostly because she couldn't confront her own feelings she had for Dawson. Her weird reasoning was that if Dawson was unavailable then she wouldn't be able to get with him that would just get rid of her feelings. Well, it wouldn't, not really, but it would make it harder for her to tell him, so that was good, right?
She set her phone down and smiled, shaking her head. Oh well, she shouldn't really be thinking about those kind of things. Dawson was just a friend, he did once have feelings for her, but Mariah knew those feelings were long gone and it was highly doubtful that he would ever have renewed feelings for her. So, she was alright with just being friends with him. He was a good guy, and she appreciated him for that. He was nicer then most guys, but then again, every guy she knew was nice to her. It seemed like an unwritten rule for guys to be mean to quiet, antisocial girls. Or at least that was how it seemed to Mariah.
She chuckled at the thought of any guy around her age being mean to her. It seemed like an impossible thought, she didn't know why it would be. Maybe it was because she had never given anyone any reason for them to hate her, except maybe Livvy, but sisters always seemed to hate each other, or maybe that was just the Fergusen household. Mariah glanced around the Starbucks, she hadn't ordered anything, mostly because she wasn't really in the mood for coffee. She looked over at the door. Nope, no sign of Dawson. Not yet at least.

if heaven and hell decide that they both are satisfied...
Oh man. He was late, he was late, for a very important...date? Was it a date? Dawson wasn't sure if Mariah was just joking around about the 'ask out another girl' thing or if it was just an excuse for her to see him. Whatever it was, it excited him, strangely. He hadn't seen Mariah properly in over a month, just fleeting glances here and there if they passed paths at school, and a casual 'hello' here and there. It wasn't enough to satisfy his craving-he really missed the girl. And the first meeting they'd arranged to see each other in a while, and he was fifteen minutes late. Glancing at his cell-phone, Dawson realized that the time was closer to twenty than fifteen, and he began to panic. Running faster down the sidewalk-oh, why did he have to decide to walk-Dawson made the left turn that he knew led to the medley of stores lining the walls. Oh god. He would be lucky if she didn't leave yet, to go shopping, or whatever it was girls did.
But nope. Mariah, thankfully was still there. Catching a breath, he entered the cafe, running his stray hand through his hair. It had been a while since he last rushed like that, and it was all for her. Glancing around the Starbucks, he looked for the familiar shape . Nope, nope. Not her..ahha! There she was. Cell phone lying next to her, she seemed a bit lonely-Mariah didn't even have a drink. Feeling guilty about the amount of time he had kept her waiting, Dawson approached the table, sliding a sheepish look onto his face. "Hey blue-eyes. Sorry I'm late...next time, remind me not to walk." Taking a sit across from her, he glanced at her eyes that made him give her that nickname-still as penetrating as he remembered. Tapping his fingers rapidly on the table, he glanced around, wondering which girl she would pick for his doom. This really was a new one-Dawson had to admit, he was rather nervous...
[[rawr. short. it'll get better, promise. =]]]
