What a joke, was it truly possible for the Wizarding World to stay at peace forever? The Great Harry Potter couldn't even properly dispose of the Dark Lord. What? Have you not heard the tale? Have you not heard what happened after the Battle of Hogwarts? Well let me enlighten you.
The world rejoiced when the Chosen One defeated Voldemort for good, disposing of all his split self through destruction of his Horcruxes. But when Voldemort discovered that Harry was destroying his last grip on immortality he was furious, and refused to let him get away with completely destroying him. So the night before the Battle, Voldemort unleashed a spell. A complicated, intricate spell, that only rarely works. Morte. What did this spell do? I'm glad you asked. It unleashed a virus, upon the death of the spell's castor, Voldemort, that slowly, and painfully worked its way through every wizard within a certain area, over the age of eleven at the time of the castor's death, murdering them each with a painful disease. Some would die instantly, for others the virus took years. But bit by bit every wizard in Britain met their match. Harry knew this had been Voldemort's doing, and realised once and for all that Voldemort truly was no match for him. He died slowly, with his new wife Ginny, ten years after the death of Voldemort. He left the world with three beautiful children. The start of a new Generation.
Very few survived those years, with the exception of the young children, who's magical maturity was not aged enough to come into contact with the virus. And therefore, wizarding Britain became run by infants. For years this brought crisis, as the older kids could not cope with having no adults around, and with the sole remaining adults painfully ill. But now, twenty-five years later, most are old enough to be considered adults anyway, and are maintaining wizarding Britain as well as they can.
Now the Ministry is run by young adults, and very few from the previous generation remain. But sadly, peace could not be maintained. After all, was that ever possible among wizards? The next generation of Death Eaters have risen, known as the Rebel Army, led by Bellatrix's Lestrange's son, a boy who was only two during the Battle of Hogwarts. He was furious by his parents' deaths and vows to finish Voldemort's job, and take over wizarding Britain, so that he can annihilate the half-bloods, muggleborns and blood traitors. The resistance is led by the Great Harry Potter's eldest son, James Potter, and the new generation of Aurors. Currently, it is a war of words, as the opponents are training for the day when battle will inevitably occur. The world is once again on the edge of their seat, anticipating a new war that could be even more destructive than the previous.
A Beautiful Lie is a Harry Potter Next Generation roleplay that intricately winds together the action and adventure of a magical world at war, with the modernisation of our own world and the always present relationships between people.
