I need the product of your fears in the form of tears, it's the only way I can survive. It breaks my heart to see you crying baby, It's the only way I stay alive.
Lucy's eyes flickered open as she yawned rather loudly. She looked at the clock sitting on the shelf beside her bed. She sat up in her chair at the desk, pulling the book of her lap. She was tired and it wasn't too late. She hated reading though. She sighed and looked around before standing up and snatching her phone up instantly. She hoped there was a text from Adam, but there wasn't. She sighed. She hadn't seen her boyfriend in a few days now. She was so caught up in homework. She groaned as she stood up, hearing her bones creak slightly. She giggled and brushed some of her blonde hair behind her ear. Lucy went over to her bathroom and picked out an outfit from the closet, needing something to wear.
She grabbed a pair of skinny jeans from the shelf and a tunic with cheetah print on it. She smiled as she pulled the new outfit on. She decided to leave her hair straight as she made a grab for her makeup bag. She searched for her eyeliner and quickly lined her top and bottom eyelid with the black pencil. She glanced into the mirror, noticing her dark eyes. She was proud of them. She shook her head, causing blonde hair to whip her in the face. She chuckled and flipped the lights off, snatching up her purse with her phone and iPod. She pulled on a pair of flip flops and was out of her dorm as fast as lightning. She passed girls' rooms which were awfully loud today. She sighed and headed for Starbucks. Her walking time was about ten minutes before she arrived at the coffee shop.
She entered, noting that it was jam packed. She made a face and ordered her favorite green tea latte. The barista gave her a smile, recognizing the girl from school. Most knew Lucy. She was one of the school's elite. In fact, she was the youngest, hoping to take the reign after Arianna and Lillivaye graduated. She shrugged and thanked the girl, waiting for her drink at the pick-up counter. She grabbed it and took a small sip, feeling the hot tea slide down her throat. She looked for a place to sit, but something outside caught her attention. She smiled as she saw Adam sitting down with an empty chair across from him. She slipped out the door, hearing a little bell ring when she opened it.
Her heartbeat quickened as she walked over, standing next to the table and looking down at him. "Is this seat taken?" she giggled softly. Her voice was soft as she looked down at her boyfriend. Adam and her had been dating for some time, but she didn't want it public just yet. She was just worried that Arianna wouldn't accept him. However, she didn't try to care. She really would rather lose her social status, but....just...not right now. She had just come to America. Her green eyes were soft as she gazed at him with a loving look.

Not gonna ever own what’s mine When you’re always taking sides But you won’t take away my pride No, not this time of it to do that it was definitely overbearing. He had to finish his essay in music, some chapters of math, a few questions in science... it was definitely a lot for one student on a weekend. Adam felt that homework shouldn't be given on weekends - they were for relaxing. Of course he was sure that every student felt this way, seeing as all of the best parties happened on weekends, everyone was hanging out with a friend on weekends or maybe catching up on late assignments. To be given an extra pile of work to do just because you had two extra days was like a nightmare to most. Maybe a pleasure to some, but Adam still had to meet said person. Hearing a familiar voice, Adam smiled as he looked up to see the face of his girlfriend. He hadn't seen her in days - Adam guessed that she was swamped with school, too, and social stuff. Although Adam didn't know what it was that "elite's" did in their spare time, he did know that they probably did more than just the normal people. He also knew that since Lucy was one of them, that he shouldn't be too public about his affection, even though all his body screamed at him to do was to kiss her - or atleast give her a friendly hug. All that Adam managed to do was smile and wave his hand towards the empty seat. "Of course not. Feel free." Oh, yeah. That was smooth. Adam smiled as he watched her, wondering what she was thinking. That was something that Adam loved about Lucy, was that he was always on his toes, always guessing. She wasn't really easy to read like most girls that Adam had met in the past. [/ul]

She looked down upon his sweet, innocent face. His long hair that shaded part of his eye. Adam was the cutest boyfriend Lucy had ever had, well honestly, one of the first. He was amazing and everything a girl could ask for. He made her happy and there was no doubt that they were the cutest couple. There were no lies. There was no story-telling. But, there was no publicity, either. There was no happy-ending because she feared her elite sisters. Arianna and Lillivaye would strangle her if they learned that she wasn't dating an elite boy. Why did it matter? Lucy had no idea, but she would do anything for Adam...she just didn't know how to do it properly. She shook the thought away and took another sip of her latte. It was toasty as it ran down her throat.
Once he responded, she smiled and bent down to give him a small kiss on the cheek before taking a seat. It was a first, for her. For them. She rarely showed PDA in fear of her elite girls. However, they weren't here and right now, she just wanted to forget all about that. That must've been a shock for him. In the four months that Lucy had been in America, he had been her boyfriend ever since and never did she show public affection. Now, that was about to change. Maybe. Lucy just hated the fact that she could be so ...cowardly sometimes. She didn't have the courage like her cousins or other family members. She sighed quietly as she sat there with her legs crossed. She took another sip, holding the cup with both hands.
She wanted to ask him how he was. What he had been up to, but she couldn't bring herself to say anything just yet. She sat there taking in his face. She gazed at his appearance. She looked at his facial expressions. Why was this so awkward? It wasn't. She was just making it awkward. After all, she had just kissed him. Wouldn't that freak you out to? She shrugged and kept taking little sips of her drink. She blew some of the little puffs of steam away from the hole in the cup, cooling off her drink as much as possible with her breath. She chuckled at her attempts and looked up at him with her innocent, huge eyes. The wind blew a bit of her blonde hair into her face.
"So how have you been babe?" she asked him. She scooted her chair in and pulled her feet up onto the seat. Her eyes rested on him the whole time. She loved theis boy to death but she felt like she didn't treat him as great as she could've. It was mainly because of the publicity thing. She ignored the guilt gnawing at her stomach.

How did we get here? When I used to know you so well How did we get here? Well, I think I know how.
Watching Lucy, Adam couldn't even possibly think of brushing the smile from his face. She was like a drug to him - the more he was with her, the more that Adam wanted to stay with her. It didn't matter what they were doing, he wanted more and more of her. The way that her blonde hair blew slightly in the wind, the bright smile that rested upon her face... it was all so beautiful. He couldn't get enough of her, that was for sure. While he observed his girlfriend, Adam cupped his hands around his cup, feeling the heat seep into his skin and warm him. His were very hot, but he hardly even noticed in his enthrallment with Lucy. When he realized that he had been staring at her, Adam looked away, embarrassed, his face a little bit pink.
When Lucy kissed Adam on the cheek, he was positively shocked. Had he felt that right? Had she really kissed him? In public? With people around? Well, of course she had, he had felt it, but... it still felt unreal. His smile got even wider, if that was possible, and his eyes never left her. Putting his cup down beside him, Adam tugged at his burgendy sweatshirt just out of nervousness. They hadn't really been together publically so this was a suprise for Adam, but don't be confused - it was a great suprise. He was definitely liking this, and he smiled at Lucy as she seemed to be at a loss for words. It was cute how hard she was trying for him. Adam felt very loved being with her. Never before had one of his girlfriends fought so hard with themselves to spend time with him.
Picking up his own cup filled with expresso, Adam chuckled with Lucy when she blew on her drink, and cupped his hands around his own cup. Switching positions, Adam sat with his left leg hanging over the chair against the pavement, and his right leg was resting horizontally across his left, and his foot was tapping nervously. Well, not really nervously, but more anxiously. He was wondering what else Lucy had in store for today. Of course he wasn't expecting her to be too public in public, but maybe they could hang out just the two of them, later. Lifting up his head after taking a gulp of his drink, Adam heard Lucy finally finding her voice, and smiled before answering her question.
"I've been doing alright, totally swamped with school, better now that I'm with you." Smiling, Adam put both of his feet on the ground, and looked towards her face, wondering what he was thinking. While trying to think of what could be on her mind, Adam's head tilted slightly to the side while this happened, and a cute look spread across his face, along with the white smile that was always on his face got even brighter when Lucy was around.

They say one man's trash, is another man's treasure. Even though I really, really loved her.
Lucy's guilt had urged her to finally just make the move and make it public. She had been here for about a month and a half and she was starting to fit in quite nicely. The guilt ate at her though. She was making hserself seem shallow for not wanting to make them public just yet. But now, she had to just forget it. If Arianna truly loved her like a baby sister, she would accept Adam and so would Lilivaye. Lucy didn't want to be a shallow bitch to the rest of the school. She was honestly a sweet person, just slightly confused about everything here in America. She wasn't the least bit appreciative of some of the welcomes she had received at the school already by some of the students. People made fun of her, her accent, her style, and anything in between. She realized, honestly, that Adam truly cared.
He cared about her and how he wanted her to feel comfortable, but for some time she couldn't see that. Last night she had thought about it a lot and putting it out publically was the only thing that was going to help their relationship right now. As she pressed her lips to his cheek, she felt a shock run through her body. This was definitely all new to her and she wasn't used to it, but she was glad. She smiled into it as she pulled away. Lucy sipped quietly and stared at his reaction, making her giggle. She knew she had never done this before and it probably shocked Adam as much as it shocked her. She never expected herself to gather up the right amount of courage for this. And for that, she had to give herself props. If anyone had seen them now, they would be doome, but she was done caring.
She was Lucy Day. She didn't worry about crap like that. She worried about when she'd next see her brothers or mother. They were too busy sometimes, though her brothers attended Darmon. She didn't really know their whereabouts. She listened to his response and it brought a genuine smile to her face. He always said things that made her happy on the inside and outside. The innocent, adorable look he gave her made Lucy giggle and blush, turning her head for a moment. She took another sip of her drink and opened her purse, looking through her texts before snapping a picture of him secretly. Thank God she had remembered to turn the sound off. She loved that he was so photogenic.
"Um, I just wanted to say that I'm really sorry for seeming shallow about keeping everything like on the DL, but I think I just need to forget that shit and just move on. I honestly love you for you and don't care about Arianna and Lilivaye's thoughts and ideas on perfect boyfriends," she said softly. Well, it was her natural tone. She had her soft voice. It made her sound too weak, but in all honesty, she could fight stronger than she seemed. It was quite amusing, actually. Lucy could get into arguments that made her sound tough, but her voice lacked in that department which was just another downfall. Lucy looked at him with her big, innocent eyes, hoping he would forgive her.
She really loved Adam and she was sorry for all the trouble she caused him. She didn't want to seem shallow among this friends, nor did she want to seem so insecure. It was her fault, but then again, she was brand new to America. You couldn't blame her.

the truth is hiding in your eyes, and it's hanging on your tongue, just boiling in my blood. but you think that i can't see
Looking at Lucy, Adam blinked as he tilted his head to the side. Lucy looked like she had something on her mind, and that intregued him. Adam was always guessing - not only did he not understand the way that girls minds worked, he especially didn't understand how foreign girls minds worked. He wanted to know what was on her mind, seeing as it was preoccupying her. He didn't like seeing that worried look on her face. He even ignored the vibrating coming from his pocket when it rang, signaling that Adam was recieving a text message.
Within a few moments, the vibrating in his pocket stopped. That's when Adam finally realized that his phone had been ringing - with a phone call, not a text message. Whoops. With a fluid motion,, Adam quickly pulled the phone out of his pocket to check who it had been while Lucy looked deep in thought. It was his sister, Danielle - he didn't know what she wanted, but it could wait for later. Putting the flip phone back into his pocket, Adam looked over at Lucy and smiled, brightening up his face. Being with Lucy made Adam smile, even if she did look a bit worried about something or other.
Watching Lucy, he noticed that she smiled. Adam concluded that she came to some sort of solution about her problem. She filed around in her purse as Adam took another drink of his expresso, barely tasting the strong caffeine as he had far too much on his mind. The drink was finished and he tossed away the cup into a nearby trash can before turning his attention back to Lucy. She was giggling, and that made the knot in the pit of Adam's stomach lessen and almost dissapear. When Lucy began talking, Adam listened carefully, her voice like velvet to his ears.
So she had felt guilty about keeping their relationship a secret - that much he could have deducted from the way that she acted around him. She always seemed to be acting like she had something to make up for - something that she'd done wrong. She treated him with such kindness an lovingness that Adam was suprised sometimes. But it seemed that Lucy was going to forget her shallow ways and move on, putting her relationship in front. Of course Adam thought that she meant it, but it wouldn't be official until they walked the halls at school together.
Putting some words together, Adam wished that he had enough time to write down his thoughts and organize him like Riley had taught him. It was a difficult task to pull words out of thin air and make then sound genuine, but Adam managed it. Adam switched positions, so that he was now sitting right beside Lucy. It was easier to talk to her now. "Lucy... It's okay. I didn't mind waiting. You needed some time, I can understand that. I love you too." Obviously, Adam was whipped. Smiling, Adam leaned in and kissed her gently on the lips, then pulled away. He didn't want to freak her out or push her into revealing their relationship so soon. Another smile brushed across his face.
