[/blockquote][/blockquote]Mariah poked at the cafeteria food. She was not much for the food that the cafeteria served, but she ate it most of the time. But not today, no, not today. Today apperently was meat day or something. Mariah was a vegetarian, though a bit of a loose one, she drank milk and ate eggs but she didn't eat any meat. Milk made sense since some cows were breed to only give milk and if they weren't milked, their udder would explode, not the best thing for cows. Eggs were more a difficult choice, hens were kept cooped up and laid multiple amounts of eggs, but they weren't fertilized so that was kind of something. Mariah knew one person couldn't change anything, but it was a personal choice.
She shoved the tray away, deciding to go hungry for just a while until dinner rolled around or something. Maybe she'd grab something from a vending machine later. She glanced around the cafeteria, it was a bit crowded, loud as well. People were jostling each other and yelling pretty loudly. She rolled her eyes, it didn't seem to really matter to her. Other people could do what they want, Mariah could do her own thing. She reached into her back pocket and pulled out a small notebook and a pencil. She jotted down a few things that had been buzzing around in her head. She was quite sure she would remember it, but sometimes writing it down gave her another idea and then that idea would give another and so on and so forth.
She sighed, dotted an eye on the notepad and set the pencil down. She felt a bit rejected right now, she didn't know why, she was used to being alone and usually prefered. She supposed it was because the few friends she had were dynamic, they changed, their relationships evolved, they evolved, they would become kinder, meaner, etc, etc. But she stayed the same ol' sweet Mariah. It was a bit frustrating, but Mariah found herself thinking that she was more of a secondary character, she provided leverage for others to change. That seemed to be right, she listened, considered their problems and gave them advice. But she never took her own advice.
