Aurora headed down to the small coffee shop at the end of the street. Usually, one wouldn't find the vivacious blonde going to La Vie De France. Everyone knew she wasn't a big fan of coffee, so she had only visited here on occasion to get a croissant. Taking in a deep breath of the cool autumn air, she headed into the warmth of the little shop. The mixture of strong coffee and freshly-baked croissants flooded her senses. A soft smile appeared on her face as she took a seat near the window.
No matter how many times Aurora would try coffee, she never liked it. Most of her friends didn't understand that but she just thought it was utterly disgusting. As she looked over the unfamiliar menu, she thought about what to possibly order. It was a rainy Saturday, and she really wasn't in the mood to be in the dorms all day. After a few minutes, Aurora decided to get a croissant and a cup of cider instead of coffee.
Aurora noticed the waitress' eyebrows perk up when she said cider instead of coffee. Obviously that wasn't very popular for one to get. Oh well, Aurora would rather come here instead of wait in line for fifteen minutes at the crowded Starbucks across the street. Taking in a soft breath, she took out her laptop out of the bag. Now that she was older, she took her laptop with her to any coffee house since she knew they'd have free internet access.
Aurora checked her e-mails quickly before shutting off her laptop. Right as she put it back in its case, the waitress came back with a large cup of cider and her croissant. She offered her a smile of her thanks before taking in a sip of her cider. It warmed her throat as she looked out the window. The clouds were hanging low today and she knew it would begin to rain shortly. Back in New York, she was used to daily rains. She actually liked the rain.
Aurora took a bite out of her croissant as she looked out the window once more. It was beautiful here in Maryland. She had driven through a few times, but never really stayed around to see what it had to offer. She was glad she decided to come to Darmon. She had been here since first year, and she loved it. Almost every weekend she flew home to see her family. That was the nice thing, it was not too far away for her to visit back. Although she loved it and her new friends here. As she sipped from her cider once more she wondered where everyone was at today.
