emmett , The moment has come to face the truth. I'm wide awake, and so are you. Do you have a clue what this is? Are you every thing that I miss? We'll just have to wait and see. If things go right we're meant to be. emmett wasn't sure why he was at the park. he wasn't into nature photography at all, so he couldn't busy himself by snapping any pictures. the trees and greens and flowers, as exuberant and pretty and inspiring as they could be, just didn't interest Emmett whenever his camera was in hand. It may clash with his personality and everything he stands for, but he's always wanted to do fashion photography, to experience the glamour and make designer's clothing and models look stunning in print. Anyway, it was getting too fall-like and brisk out to go swimming or sun bathe or actually enjoy throwing a frisbee or riding a bike without your fingers freezing and falling off. So, tell me again, why on Earth was he here?
perhaps he needed some fresh air, to get away from the stuffy school. even though he'd been excited about going to class all week, to plop down in the library among the musk-smelling books and wrinkling librarians (not the most pleasant thought, but the whole atmosphere excited Emmett) and study or gather information for an assignment. It could get stressful, though there weren't quite any traces of such frustration yet. Seriously, why was Emmett here when he could be experiencing something as enjoyable (to him, at least) as the library?! a small breeze shook through the air, lightly bristling the reddening leaves on the trees, a pleasant noise of rustling reaching Emmett's ears. A few yellow or brown leaves were on the ground already, the only remaining ones on the trees being bright scarlet or still green, just about to change until they took their suicide plunge to the ground, where they would remain though winter under their blanket of snow. So this was why Emmett was here. To see one of his favorite seasons in its famous process, the stereotypical seen on children's calendars, little boys and girls raking up dead leaves, warm colored-ones lingering above their heads. Emmett adored fall, it being his second favorite to winter, and wanted to get the most of its short-lived life as he could. Another breeze came and Emmett tugged his gray cardigan a bit closer to his skin, begging for a little bit more warmth. Though it was a small gust, he placed his hand on top of his hat, careful for it not to blow away. though I already said that Emmett wasn't a huge fan of nature photography, he, of course, still had his camera handy with him. Perhaps a lovely looking girl or boy in a nice outfit would pass by, leaving him with a great opportunity to do an impromptu shoot. I mean, he had this incredible backdrop and he wouldn't let the chance for some great shots for his portfolio disappear. He took great pride in his work and didn't want it to ever slip or go through doldrums of mediocre prints. water glimmered under the reflection of the afternoon sun, clouds and those brilliant trees cast onto the surface of the water, too. Not too many people were here. A boy and a girl sitting next to each other, the boy with an acoustic guitar in his lap, softly strumming, the girl quietly singing along. Emmett was tempted to go and shoot them because they both looked very happy and pretty and good together. He almost envied them, even if the feelings between the two weren't romantic, he was caught in such a web of his own that he wished for no love drama at all instead. It was like a big love triangle, how he loved his straight best friend and his roomate slash annoyance liked Emmett. It confused him terribly and quite frankly, he wished it away rather than being there. Then again, who wouldn't?!

mister leon gaulen everything is f'ed up straight from the heart tell me what do you do, when it all falls apart gotta pick myself up where do I start 'cause I can't turn to you when it all falls apart Legs swung back and forth in the air, body tingling with the rush it only got when death was licking at your heels. Sitting on the wet dock, Leon felt like that’s what he was doing right now. Some people were afraid of clowns, while others were terrified of spiders. Water was his worst fear, and like a person facing a pack of hungry wolves, by sitting with his body partly above the water, he was taunting his phobia. Fingers involuntarily clawed into the wood behind him though, the only example that the water still had control of him. His face though was nonchalant, green round eyes staring into the distance as the clouds went by. Releasing a sigh, the man appeared to not be in his highest moods. He wasn’t mad or upset, just trying to deal with some emotions he was feeling right now, that’s all.
It was no big deal, really. His meeting with Aja had shaken him up though, brought back memories and feelings that made his stomach twist. He had loved that girl so much… seeing her again had given him another taste of how he had felt a long time ago. It was odd how the feeling had been fading and worst of all how it brought another sensation. Pain. Why had he cheated on her? The gossipers around the school would say it was because he was a jerk. Plain and simple. He cared nothing about her, he was just using her, and all she was was a tool to make his ego go up a few slots. All lies. Worst than some of the lies he told combined. He had cared about Aja it was just…
Shaking his head, he tried to rid himself of those thoughts. There was something more important about confronting her that he had figured out almost immediately. The memories of how she made his heart ache compared so similarly with the roommate of his. He didn’t exactly know why, but did there have to be a reason when you were just attracted to someone? Not really, at least not according to Leon. Another question was whether Emmett was just another crush or something more. Shit… if he was something more there was a big problem. First impression wise, the law student had a feeling the photographer hated his guts. He might be over exaggerating, as everyone says the kid’s just a sweetheart, but that’s what it felt like.
Loosening his black tie that sat on a white long sleeved dress shirt, it was obvious he had just come from some formal meeting or field trip to the Potomac Court House. After watching a few lawyers battle it off in a drunk driving case, Leon definitely had gotten his fill of law for the day. He probably shouldn’t be wearing nice black pants on the wooden dock, but he’d have to send it to dry cleaning eventually. As long as they didn’t get soaked, nothing would be ruined. His brown leather shoes had already been taken off, sitting by his side, his feet sore from walking around in them. They were way too small, but he hadn’t bothered asking his mother for any money. Lately he had been afraid to call her.
At the sound of singing and guitar playing, a smile couldn’t help but escape his bland features and cause him to forget some of his troubling thoughts. Turning his head, his green eyes looked over the pair on the shore, seeming so happy to be with each other. Surprisingly, he felt one of his hands curl into a fist, dragging along the wooden board. He couldn’t be jealous of them too, could he? All the sudden his soft composure turned cold, his bitter persona beginning to show itself. That’s what happened when he was envious. His only way to shield it was to build a bubble around himself, and snap at anyone who dared to even try and puncture it.
Rather suddenly, he pushed his body up so he was standing on the dock, hands on his waist as he gave the long river a final glare. Turning around, he picked up his shoes and too into his thoughts didn’t see the wet puddle in his path. Foot immediately slid on it, flipping him backwards with such a speed he didn’t have a chance to whimper or shriek. Shoes flew into the air, falling back onto the dock, but poor Leon wasn’t so lucky. Being so close to the edge already, he missed the dock and fell right toward the water, back first. The way he hit the surface made an immense splash, and soon his warm body was engulfed in bone chilling water.
The shock of the cold water made the little air he had be release from his lungs as he slowly began to sink down. Body thrashed in the water, causing more splashing, but the man did not properly moving his arms and legs to paddle to the surface. He had never had swimming lessons because of his fear of drowning. Funny how that would be the death of him. Underwater still, his green eyes were wide with terror, unsure what was up and what was down. God, he was going to die…
Heart thumped rapidly within his chest, but as the decrease in the air became evident it began to slow along with his chaotic thrashing in fear and confusion. Body started to settle, eyes began to close, and mind began to get dark… He felt so sick, so tired, and way too young to die…

emmett , The moment has come to face the truth. I'm wide awake, and so are you. Do you have a clue what this is? Are you every thing that I miss? We'll just have to wait and see. If things go right we're meant to be. emmett was silent, gently swaying back and forth, watching the placid scenery before him. Everything was so calm and lovely and he was trying to adopt this serenity so that his nerves would vanish and he could successfully do the photoshoot he so wanted to. The couple's music set a wonderful backdrop for this imagery, a sweet little acoustic song, their young, cherup faces grinning as they played. Emmett had his camera in hand, prepared, absolutely relaxed and ready to shoot. He stood up, wiped some imaginary dirt from his pants, and surveyed his surroundings once more. Pressing the camera up to his eye, he snapped a quick test shot, getting his lense in line and his creative eye ready.
taking one last deep breath, absolutely preparing himself, he started to step toward the waterfront where the two were seated. As he approached, he got a better look at them, the pair seated on the tartan blanket. The girl had mahogany brown hair, a classically pretty face, and a pretty black shirtdress on. It was belted around the waist and she wore a lot of bracelets, her loose ponytail bobbing slightly as she rocked back and forth and sang. The male was the opposite of her, looking rather rugged. His jeans had a few holes in them and his shirts were simple. A black t shirt and a plain black jacket. The boy's shoes were a simple pair of black converse, however, you could see his bright red and blue striped socks peeking out front under his jeans. A gray beanie topped his head as he looked down, carefully playing the guitar. Emmett admired the two, their evident musical chemistry. could Ah possibly, euh, get you two in a-" sploosh. Emmett's head automatically turned, seeing a large splash in the water near the dock, one much too large to have been a fish's. He furrowed his brows in confusion, looking on, squinting slightly against the sun and to see the scene closer. The shadow of a figure was evident in the water, sinking down lower and lower. "It's a person!" the girl shouted, her dainty voice seeming to clash against the words. Emmett's good side broke in and he toed off his shoes, shrugged off his wool cardigan, and tossed his hat to the girl before running off the dock. He was careful as to not slide on the puddles throughout or get a splinter on the jagged wood. Emmett was never a fantastic swimmer, he didn't know those different fancy strokes, but he could dive fairly decently and swim like an average person. So here went nothing. some people say you don't feel the water when you hit the surface. But those people are definitely wrong. This was different to Emmett, the way the icy late October water enveloped him and numbed him. It constricted his lungs and his brain struggled to process everything. His clothes were weighing him down, soggy and uncomfortable, as he tried to make things out in the foggy water underneath the surface. He spotted the figure sinking lower, thrashing slightly, and he propelled himself forward. Emmett's brain wasn't thinking about anything, unable to at all. Vital signs and ethics were kicking him, motivating him to help this person. He kicked his stocking feet, scooping forward with his arms, almost there... he hooked this person's arm safely around his own, trying to make it to the surface as quickly as he could. Emmett so desperately wanted this person to be safe. How terrible it would be, to die by drowning. Emmett thought the cold water was bad, imagine not being able to swim, helpless, water seeping into your lungs, bubbles furiously escaping your nose... He tried to think positively as he broke the surface of the water, heaving this person up with him. He was by no means muscular or strong but as I may have said, in situations like these, Emmett can be anything. He placed and elbow up onto the dock, pulling himself up, struggling to get the body up with him. The two of them were now safely both up on the dock, Emmett surely panting, much wanted oxygen flooding his body, warming up. h e wasn't paying attention to whoever this person was, desperate to just get them okay. He knew from babysitting training a few years ago that whenever submerged in cold water, the best thing to do is remove the clothing in order to generate some body heat and get rid of as much cold as possible. Emmett's numb fingers shook as he undid the person's buttons on their shirt, and then their tie, tossing both articles to the side of the body. Emmett hadn't really noticed the attributes of the person until now, and he was a bit... scared. It was Leon. Of all people in the world, it had to be Leon. He wasn't sure how he felt about the male, couldn't tell whether he was good or evil. Emmett really wanted to like him, he did, but didn't know if he could allow himself to. However, Leon wasn't showing any signs of consciousness yet and Emmett wanted to act as quickly as possible. e mmett ushed down on Leon's bare chest a few times, trying to get the heart pumping, to get the water out, anything... After doing this a few times, Emmett opened Leon's mouth, taking a deep breath. He didn't want to do this... He didn't want to do this... He pressed his mouth to Leon's open one, sending a gust of air down. Pump the chest a few more times, create a rhythm, pause to send another gust of air down. p lease, please, please be alive!" Emmett found himself saying, surprised at his care. Sure, he wanted to help this person no matter what, but he figured that even he, Emmett the sweetie pie, would see himself be a little biased. He continued with his procedures, desperate to see Leon alive. He felt as if he were on the verge of tears, the combination of freezing clothing, a person nearly dying before his eyes, and his own personal feelings toward Leon contributing to the saline licking at his eyes. The musical girl and boy were standing nearby, the girl's feminine hand pressed delicately over an open mouth. "Is he going to be okay?!" a h hope so."

»Leon» everything is f'ed up straight from the heart tell me what do you do, when it all falls apart gotta pick myself up where do I start 'cause I can't turn to you when it all falls apart Faintly he could feel a ripple go through the water, but his mind was so foggy by this time that he didn’t react. Like a rock, he just kept sinking endlessly, falling further and further. If he had been alone in the park, or if no one had noticed, he would probably kept going till he hit the bottom. That was a weird thought. How long would have it taken everyone to notice he was missing? How long would it take for them to find his body on the shore? Disturbing as it was, he couldn’t help but wonder that as the cliché flash of memories went across his mind, bringing back forgotten laughter and so well concealed pain. Life and death experiences were said to change a person forever. Even though Leon’s mind wasn’t capable of thinking so deeply, he would later wonder if this drowning incident would change him as a whole.
Limp, his body helplessly felt it being dragged towards the surface, the water resistance wanting to keep him under. They say if you drown or die within the water, you’ll soul will be stuck there. It was a torturous purgatory, and if this kind person hadn’t put the effort into rescuing him, it would have added another name to its list. His body didn’t heave in the air like Emmett had though. It remained completely motionless, his heart ready to give out as his lungs were suffocated with water. Rag doll figure allowed the other boy to do what he wanted as he dragged him back on the dock that might have killed him. The cold water had numbed his body, caused his muscles to ache, and gave his fair complexion an even ghostly looking appearance.
How Leon would wish later to have been awake through the CPR. It was so disappointing that he had to be completely out of it. If he had had an out of body experience, floating above the dock and watching him lay there, his soul would be screaming for him to rise. As Emmett began to press on his chest, his nerves sent impulses to his spine, hoping to make contact eventually with his brain. His head somewhat recognized this feeling, but it still wouldn’t wake up. When the two of their lips touched the first time with the gush of air, more senses stirred. The extra from his next pushes on his chest made his quiet heart suddenly skyrocket, and Leon’s body moved as his head shifted, much of the water that had been forcefully drank spitting out to his right side.
Green eyes were wide, his body shivering immediately in fear and the shock of how numb he felt. Still thinking he was in the water, he attempted to push himself up with his arms, but hissed when he felt his muscles too tired and tight to do anything he requested. Body gradually moved back down so his head returned on the scratchy wooden planks. Greedily he took in the fresh air, his throat burning from the bitterness of the unclean river water. Brain still couldn’t calculate who was around him, still blurred by mist. His hands were curled up in fists though, as if he was still fighting to live.
He hadn’t felt that scared in a long time. Even when his dad had been coming at him with a knife, digging the blade into his flesh, water was a whole different league. At least he could have fought off his father at that age, which he had in order to save his life. Water, on the other hand, wasn’t that kind. You were at it’s mercy and it wouldn’t mind devouring you, feeling no guilt or human emotions. Like a black hole, all it did was eat and suck things in. It didn’t matter who you were, what you did, or if you might one day save the world. Leon knew from past experiences with drowning that it wouldn’t mind killing him.
Blinking a few drops of water away from his eyes, arms still too tired to move, he let his head shift slowly and carefully. He was so damn confused. “I need to move…”
he whispered helplessly, “The water is going to take me.” Still he hadn’t realized he was out, even though it should be so obvious with Emmett and the couple he had been jealous of right there with him. The whole blacking out between didn’t help at all with his comprehension. With the adrenaline rushing through his body he was still in fight or flight mode. His wings were broken and his muscles were torn. A feeling like this was rare for anyone to experience, but you don’t need to go through it to imagine how scary it feels. Finally thoughts began to click, and pieces began to fall into the right places. Voice getting a more calm tone as his muscles began to relax even if he was freezing cold, he asked, “How’d I get here?” That was a little bit more of a sane statement. A question that even Leon in his clear mind would ask. Green eyes fell on Emmett, brow rising in question. “Why are you wet?” Well, maybe not completely knowledgeable about everything. They had to give him a few minutes though. Come on, the guy nearly died. At least he was getting there…[/blockquote][/blockquote]

emmett , The moment has come to face the truth. I'm wide awake, and so are you. Do you have a clue what this is? Are you every thing that I miss? We'll just have to wait and see. If things go right we're meant to be. those hot tears were posing even more of a threat now, tingling his tear ducts. Again and again they came so close to falling, though Emmett was ever-thankful that they didn't. He could only imagine the sort of embarrassment. What if Leon were to suddenly wake up to find Emmett crying? How would that look? It would surely be difficult to explain for Emmett, seeing your seemingly annoyed rival in tears because of your near-death.
when Emmett saw Leon spit out some dirty river water to the side in between cpr reps, he was so relieved and so grateful. Picture, just imagine the sort of guilt Emmett would live with, subconciously always being the boy who almost saved Leon Gaulen. Those salty drops from before were now freeling falling at the sight of Leon, as feeble as he may be. They felt hotter than he would have predicted, streaking his cheeks, taking no mercy on the boy's cold skin from the water. "Thank god you ah alive... Merci!" He whimpered once before grinning and sighing. He was just so, so happy that it'd turned out okay. however, when Leon started to murmur about the water taking him, needing to move, that's when Emmett started to get nervous. What if the chilly water affected him so much that it got to his brain, too? What if he would be forever sort of chained up in this world of odd sensory and gibberish? Emmett shrugged off the thought, only wanting to protect Leon. "Ze water won't take you! Ah promise." His voice was nothing above a whisper, not wanting to alarm the boy just in case his rationality was messed up. Emmett looked up momentarily from Leon to the onlooking couple. "Could you get me your euh, blanket? We need to warm 'im up." h e started to feel a bit awkward, kneeling before a shirtless Leon. He hoped that it wasn't too evident that he was uncomfortable, even if he was biting his lower lip tightly and glancing around. Emmett felt badly saying that Leon was so attractive like this because it felt stolen, like he didn't deserve to be seeing this. He never really thought too highly of the boy so he felt as if that didn't grant him permission to see Leon in such an... intimiate state. Especially since the boy had practically drowned. It wasn't the most perfect way to see somebody without their shirt on for the first time... without thinking, Emmett reached a chilly arm down, grasping Leon's own cold hand in his. Even though no body heath was generate between both of the freezing hands, Emmett still felt sort of stuffy and clammy. He didn't like Leon, no, not that way. But somehow, here, holding hands with him altered his perception, if only for a few moments. He'd laugh and play it off like it was an attempt to warm the boy or to give him comfort. the still-unknown couple returned with the blanket they had formerly been sitting on and Emmett took it gratefully, wrapping it around Leon. "Euh, Ah'm not sure. Ah only know dzat you fell into ze water." Emmett smiled meekly when Leon asked why he was wet, unsure whether he was being serious or just trying to make light of the situation. Either way, Em was a bit sheepish about the subject, not certain of quite how to respond. "Well, Ah jumped in to 'elp you and so Ah got a leettle beet wet!" He laughed goodnaturedly, wanting to cheer the boy up and just make him relax, gingerly pinching the soaked fabric of his plaid shirt. He was a bit mad that one of his favorite shirts was possibly ruined, but quite frankly, Emmett knew it wasn't at the top of his priorities right now... Even if it was vintage. a few different people from the shore had approached, though not too close, just to right before the dock. They were all unlooking nervously, murmuring behind palms to each other, worried expressions on their faces. Emmett was never good with crowds and he tried to pretend that they weren't there, to just focus on Leon's face... a fter staring at the boy for a few moments, he shook his head, blushing as he looked away. Emmett felt so bashful and so guilty that he was suddenly seeing Leon as... not such a threat. He didn't know if that was right or wrong or even if he could allow himself to. "Ooh, désolé, beau." No. He did not just slip in a severe way. No. Emmett clasped his hand over his mouth, praying that Leon was still in delirium and that he hopefully didn't understand French.

»Leon» everything is f'ed up straight from the heart tell me what do you do, when it all falls apart gotta pick myself up where do I start 'cause I can't turn to you when it all falls apart Again Leon attempted to sit up and this time didn’t feel the tingle of pain. He wasn’t exactly sure if that was a good sign that he felt not even a pinch right now. During these few seconds he didn’t worry about it much, just noting to himself that he’ll be very sore by tonight. One hand went to his forehead, rubbing it lightly and then going through his hair as more images began to make sense. “Shit… I fell in the water,”
he suddenly realized, releasing a huff of air in amazement. God. He should be dead. Freaking out like a cat in water, it wouldn’t have taken him long to sink under. Looking at his hand he tried to figure it out, knowing the answer should be easy as he looked at his sticky black pants. Feeling something against his left hand, he turned his head seeing the face he had earlier. Who it had been hadn’t made such an impact on him till now. Like usual in public, Leon played off his feelings cool and nonchalant. Inside though, he was going ballistic. Emmett had saved him? Of all the kids in school that cute French boy had jumped into the water and scooped him out. Letting his hand slide to his lips his eyes widened to a degree, while his gaze was out towards the water. Crap!! He had some recollection of the boy on top of him, giving him… CPR. Oh goddamn it! He had been asleep through it all?! Wait, wait. He should be happy he was alive, that’s all that should matter. Gaze returned to the boy, who had periodically held his hand before releasing it with an adorable laugh. Leon in response grinned with amusement, but deep inside he knew he couldn’t lie to himself. If anyone could hear his heart right now, and didn’t think it was beating because of the shock of nearly dying, they’d hear a pace that was as fast as a hummingbird’s. Eyes looked over his wet features, realizing suddenly another fact. He had been crying. Leon would have happily comforted right there and then, if it weren’t for the people gathering in the distance to watch them. He couldn’t help but smirk at the idea of all the sympathy he’d get later down the road and the knowledge of people looking at his toned chest. Even on death doorstep he could be self-centered. It only showed that he was coming back into reality. The vulnerable child Emmett had earlier seen was a rare sight seen outside of dangerous or private scenarios. He had a reputation to upkeep. He couldn’t be whimpering and shaking like a pathetic creature. Head tilted slightly at seeing the French boy’s obvious dislike of crowds. Leon had never felt that way before. Being a lawyer you couldn’t be afraid of the many eyes staring at you, so ready to judge. Somehow a reassuring smile escaped, like usual trying to reassure Emmett he was alright. The boy should be more focused on himself. He was as cold as Leon was and had the same amount of chance of getting pneumonia. Normally Leon wouldn’t mind a self-less person helping him. At least he would then knew he’d get the best treatment he could get. In Emmett’s case, the conditions were very different. It wasn’t like Leon would enjoy leeching off the kid and draining all his kind actions without even giving him anything in returned. Head turned as the couple returned with the blanket and couldn’t help but frown as it was so easily chosen to wrap around him. No. That wasn’t right. “What are you doing?” he asked, flashing an amused smile. He might be cold, but he didn’t mind getting sick. At least he was alive. Unlike the other boy, he wasn’t as nervous to be forward. Gently he reached up and grabbed the boys arm, pulling him closer, but not so it was odd to anyone watching. Not that bringing him closer and wanting to help him was an act to bring up his ego. He truly was concerned that Emmett might get ill too. Opening the blanket, he wrapped the other end around the boy, in a genuine motion of gratefulness. “Sheesh. I love how you want to help me, but don’t forget you were in that… water too.” Just saying the word made him shiver as if it would curse him. “You are cold… right?” He asked, poking the boy’s shoulder lightly. That wouldn’t be good if he wasn’t. Ears somewhat caught his French comment, brow rising with confusion. What did that mean? He knew he should have taken French instead of Spanish. In order to make up for the confusion he laughed lightly and commented, “I hope that’s something good you’re saying.” He knew it was directed to him, but what the hell did it mean? He seemed to freak out, but that could just be because he said something bad out loud on accident. Not that he was used to hearing Emmett say bad stuff. The kid was a total sweetheart. He probably didn’t even have a nasty bone in his body. “So… what’s the plan, stan?” he asked after a few minutes, beginning to feel his fingers and toes. “I’m not sure if it’s a good idea to stay out here freezing our asses off.” They might feel warm now, but it wouldn’t be long before they were human ice cubes. Letting in another chilling breath of air he made a quick suggestion, “Does a trip back to the dorm rooms sound like a good idea to you?”[/blockquote][/blockquote]

emmett , The moment has come to face the truth. I'm wide awake, and so are you. Do you have a clue what this is? Are you every thing that I miss? We'll just have to wait and see. If things go right we're meant to be. emmett immediately became more alert when he saw Leon struggle to sit up. Emmett was so naturally a caring boy that even the tiniest sign of weakness- in anybody- worried him. He cautiously reached a hand forward, prepared to brace the boy. However, realizing that he was just fine, he withdrew it, placing it back by his side. That was a major problem with Emmett; he often underestimated people's strengths. He constantly believed that he needed to help out and provide some protection, even though most people are just fine on their own. And in retrospect, he didn't want Leon to think that Emmett thought he was weak or anything, scared of the consequences. Though Leon was pleasant like this, who knows, possibly he could turn on a dime and go all-out snappy. "Er- yeah. You went down pretty far." Emmett cleared his throat and awkardly looked away, not wanting to appear overly-heroic or anything. He didn't like the attention.
he noticed the smile that Leon flashed him, immediaely relaxing some. Suddenly the whispering crowd didn't seem so intimidating and watchful, suddenly he didn't feel like icicles were forming on his chin. Even just the tiniest little grin that Leon had shown heated Emmett's whole body as if he'd been plopped down in front of a burning and crackling fireplace, the flames consuming the wood and sending a lovely, comforting smell around. He momentarily got lost in this little menal image, a smile of his own soon subconciously appearing on his face, looking slightly dazed. brows furrowed when Leon asked what Emmett was doing, concerned that perhaps this was not enough. As I said much before, Emmett really only wanted to help, and hearing that confused him slightly. However, the smile (oh, the smile) on Leon's face betrayed his words and soon made Emmett think differently. Wait, so his deeds were appreciated. He soon understood the other meaning and complied to Leon's tugging, soon finding himself positioned next to the other boy. He felt the fleece blanket pulled over his shoulders, the extra layer already helping. "You ah in worse conditions than me, don't worry," Emmett tried to argue, though quite truly, he was very grateful for this extra, small warmth. "Euh, yes. But Ah really am fine!" He found himself sheepishly smiling not only from Leon's question, but his poking, too, the heat from the blush tickling his cheeks contributing some comfort too. when Leon laughed and asked Emmett whether or not his French remark was something good, Emmett wasn't sure whether to be happy or upset. Glad that his comment had gone misunderstood, glad that he'd saved himself the embarrassment if Leon understood. But now Leon was asking about it, wanting to know. Now Emmett felt as if he had to tell. The flush on his cheeks didn't disappear as he spoke. "Euh... Ah called you 'beau'. Dzat means, euh..." He paused to nervously clear his throat, something he's been doing a lot lately. "Dzat means beautiful." There. He said it. It's a good thing, too; you thought he was embarrassed about the French comment non-gate? Ha, just imagine what would happen it he realized that he was nearly snuggling with Leon. "Ah'm not sure." He looked off at the water, how it looked so calm and pretty. Surprising that its depths held something so... scary for other people. Emmett turned his head once Leon began talking again, though, focusing on his words. "Dzat's true. Ah really don't want to get sick." He shuddered at the thought of being trapped up in the dorms for a few days, groaning with a mound of used tissues on the floor next to him. "Eet sounds lovely. We could watch some movies or something," he said, completely disregarding his last thought.

»Leon» everything is f'ed up straight from the heart tell me what do you do, when it all falls apart gotta pick myself up where do I start 'cause I can't turn to you when it all falls apart Wow, Emmett sure blushed a lot. Not that the trait was a turn off of any kind, of course. If anything, it relaxed Leon more, acknowledging that the French boy wasn’t a total stone with no emotions. It also somewhat amused him at how easily he got so nervous. The boy needed to relax. He had saved Leon, the crowd was dispersing, and life had returned to the way it had been. Well… unless you counted him giving his roommate mouth-to-mouth and the fact that they were both nearly cuddling against each other. Suddenly noticing this, the law student scratched the back of his head, somehow holding back a blush. His eyes moved away from Emmett to the water, as if acting like this was no big deal. Like mentioned earlier, he liked the boy a lot, but at the same time he wanted to be seen as single as possible in public. He had a lot of ladies (and some other gorgeous men) on his list. Emmett might be on the top, but he didn’t want to tie himself down right now by just sitting next to him.
Catching the other boy’s translation, Leon’s heart nearly stopped again. This time he couldn’t help but let his cheeks get a little color, letting his eyes immediately go to the ground. Shit… he was blushing. That’s the last thing he needed. What was everyone going to think? If he had his tie on right now he would be nervously adjusting it, making a bigger scene. Thank god it was on the ground with his other apparel and he could just calmly return to his ‘cool’ state. “Uh… thank you?”
He managed to let another relaxed smile reach his features, the color subsiding. God that sounded stupid. He probably looked like a complete idiot. “We... uh… we should really get going.” Yes, maybe a change of scenery and subject would make this less likely be blown out of proportion. Funny how he would have been so happy if it had just been him and Em in the dorm room. Damn, why couldn’t this kid say stupid but cute stuff in the dorm room towards him instead of being buried in a book all the time? Rising, he gave the French boy the rest of the blanket as he recovered his wet clothes and leather shoes. Then turning back he quickly asked the couple, “You don’t mind if we borrow the blanket, do you?” Not waiting for a response he gestured for Emmett to follow, his old attitude not really caring what their answer might be. Would they really said no to two men who could have possibly died? If they would have, they didn’t deserve to get their blanket back. Once Em was by his side, he walked from the dock, the whispers of bystanders growing louder. A few yelled out to Leon to ask if he was okay and he released an easy laugh with a small wave, “Of course, I am. What would Darmon be without me?” The confident boy easily walked through the crowd, checking over his shoulder for Emmett to make sure he wasn’t left behind. After confining in others that he was alright, they got back on the dirt trail that led them back to the dorms. The walk was rather quiet, but Leon didn’t particularly care. He was still trying to get a hold of his thoughts and imagine a warm beach where his body wasn’t freezing. The boy was good at holding back his pain and shielding his feelings though, so the French boy wouldn’t notice how cold he was on the inside. The law student was especially experienced at hiding his own emotions and secrets. For example, not even Aja knew the scar on his arm was from his father. The only person that knew such confidential information was Evans. The two of them were so close he knew the boy would take knifes and bullets before spilling anything on Leon. God, he needed more friends like that… Seeing the dorms not too far in the distance he walked a little more briskly, opening the door (holding it for Emmett) and walking down the halls. The warmth of the building made his chilled arms tingle, causing another shiver to go through his body. Getting to 2900, he felt his pant pockets, and after sloshing past a wet box of cigarettes found his ring of keys. Taking them out he pushed through his motorcycle key, his house key, his vault key, and finally got to the dorm one. Gingerly he put it into the lock, turning it and opening the door. Again he held the door as Emmett came inside, closing it and bolting the lock. “Home sweet home,” he muttered as he went into the bathroom to hang his wet clothes. Deep inside, he knew they were totally ruined… but he might as well try to revive them. Getting his socks off, he began to unzip his pants before remembering Emmett was also in the dorm room. It wasn’t like one of those days where he could walk around the dorm with only a towel around his waist. With his pants unzipped still, he whistled to himself as he went to his drawer, pulling out of pair of dry boxers and a thin gray t-shirt. While he was at his drawer he bit his lip, debating if that was a good choice. Half the time he didn’t even wear boxers when it was around this time and he was probably going to bed. For the French boy’s sake, he also grabbed a pair of black sweats, convincing himself that it would be good for his cold body. Closing the drawer he went back to the bathroom, closing the door, and changing very quickly. Once hanging his wet clothes on the rack, he walked back out, letting his hands ruffle his wet hair so it didn’t totally stick to his head. “It’s all yours, pal.” He said with a smirk. Going to his bed he nearly jumped on it, feeling the springs bounce him back up and his head sinking into the pillow. While Emmett did his own thing getting his wet clothes off, he debated what they could do later on. As an idea popped into his head he snapped his fingers and with a grin headed for the mini-fridge. Pulling out some milk, than mugs and cocoa powder from the cabinets he used the few free minutes making hot cocoa. Putting the two mugs in the microwave, he turned it on and glanced at the bathroom door. Hearing a beep he opened the microwave and pulled the two mugs out. “I wonder…” Quickly he opened the other cabinets, happy to see his luck was changing once finding a bag of marshmallows. Opening the plastic with his teeth he began sticking a few in each mug once the door opened again. “Want some?” he asked with a smile, pointing to the mugs.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

emmett , The moment has come to face the truth. I'm wide awake, and so are you. Do you have a clue what this is? Are you every thing that I miss? We'll just have to wait and see. If things go right we're meant to be. emmett definitely noticed the pale flushed reaching Leon's cheeks after his translation of 'beau'. A small, rare smirk was quickly placed upon Emmett's own thin lips, grateful that for once he was the one not being all sheepish. It was such a habit of his, to get embarrassed and bashful over the tiniest things, incidents that most people would shrug off before simply continuing on. So, yes, Emmett was basking in his few moments when somebody else was undergoing some bashfulness. He didn't respond to Leon's stutters and murmurs that nearly formed a thank you, simply smiling to himself as dull blue eyes looked around some more, serving as just a little disraction.
he got to his feet and brushed off imaginary dirt from his soaked pants before gathering his own belongings. His camera, his shoes, his hat, and his cardigan were soon back in their proper places, all providing a tiny bit- but just enough- of warmth to make Emmett's smile not fade. He stood with his arms crossed across his chest paciently, shaking his head amusedly. It would be the last thing that he'd admit, but he admired the way that Leon could be so audacious, keeping the blanket without permission. Emmett was glad, though, because he liked the plaid blanket already and looked forward to cuddling under it with... legs were struggling to move quickly and efficiently as the pair walked, barely moving with the chill and numbness still existing in them. Emmett made no sign of this, though, hands casually placed into the pockets of his wet pants. He couldn't wait to get back to the dorm and towel himself down, getting rid of all the leaves surely sticking to his skin, and change into fresh, dry, warm clothes. He was careful to not touch his camera to his clothes, taking extra precautions, not wanting it to break. Emmett stared at it as he walked, contemplating, before putting it up to his eye and snapping a quick picture of Leon. He felt a bit guilty not telling the boy beforehand to ready himself or smile or whatever he needed to do for the photograph, but at the same time, Emmett just wanted a nice candid shot. He then lowered the camera, smiling serenely as they walked. the heat on in the dorm building felt lovely and as if he were already starting to dry. The silence was piercing but kind of pleasant, seeing as that whenever the two talked it always ended up slightly awkward. "Thank you," he said cheerfully when Leon held the door for him, walking into their room and immediately placing his camera down on his bed. Emmett half-leaned, half-sat on the very edge of his bed, careful as to not get his sheets wet. He carefully watched Leon collect his clothes and wonder whether or not to grab bottoms to go over his boxers. Emmett silently pleaded that he would, wanting to spare his hormones and blood flow direction. It would not be cute for him if Leon had chosen to be walking around the room in those flimsy, flimsy bottoms, all open and everything... Emmett shuddered away the thought, the nightmare of Emmett getting a little issue in his pants... once Leon was inside the bathroom, Emmett saw this as his opportunity to take a breather. The whole series of incidents today was just a whirlwind, so rapid and sudden and exciting. He went from disliking Leon to being- dare he say- attracted to the boy in a matter of a day, hours even. A tiny little smile was upon his lips as Leon's stepped out of the bathroom and Emmett searched through his own drawers to find clothes. He chose nothing less than a pair of green plaid pajama bottoms, a soft, heathered navy t shirt, a large, gray cable knit zip-up sweater, and a pair of white woolen socks. Maybe Emmett was over-judging this all; the warmth, the occasion... But he would never, ever let up style just for warmth. If he was going to be all bundled up, he wanted to look at least semi-fashionable. he padded into the bathroom, getting undressed, slowly peeling off the sticky, wet clothing and hanging them on the ledge of the shower/bath. Once that task was done, he got a towel from the rack, mopping down the rest of them and rubbing the towel over his head to dry his wavy blonde hair a bit. Emmett got dressed, savoring the warmth of the layers as they piled on. He felt so full and smiled again before exiting the bathroom to find Leon preparing hot chocolate. "Oh, euh, of course!" Emmett's smile was prominent as he took a warm mug and layed down on his bed. "Thank you for making eet," he said after he took a sip, chewing on one of the dissolving marshmallows. it was late afternoon and even though the sun wasn't quite ready to set, it still felt much later. He'd already done a lot today and replays of everything went through his mind as he continued to take sips of the warm, sweet drink. "Euh... So are you feeling better?" One hand gripping his mug, he leaned down his bed to pick up his camera, flicking it on. He wanted to show Leon his little rogue picture. "Ah took a picture of you while we were walking. Not sure eef you noticed." Half-smiling, he displayed the picture on his camera's screen, reaching an arm out so that Leon could see it.

»Leon» everything is f'ed up straight from the heart tell me what do you do, when it all falls apart gotta pick myself up where do I start 'cause I can't turn to you when it all falls apart When Emmett stepped out of the bathroom he couldn’t help put smirk at his clothing choice. He hadn’t paid much attention to what the boy had chosen beforehand, but now with him wearing it the whole impact began to settle in. It was almost amusing to see the boy in colorful stylish clothing, while he coped with dark articles that he had just randomly picked up. During certain occasions he could be very clean cut, but he was going to be in his room for the rest of the day. Plus, he looked rather attractive in anything he wore. At least in his opinion. The French boy’s tastes were well chosen, but at this time Leon didn’t put too much effort in his own. He could walk around with only a bathrobe all day and would probably remain just as confident. It was just in his nature.
As Em took the drink and thanked him he waved a hand, “It’s no problem. You saved my life; I owe you a hell lot more than a cup of cocoa.”
He was going to feel in debt to his roommate for awhile. There were tons of tidbits he could do later to further show his thankfulness. Actually, the whole excuse of ‘being in debt’ would make the ideas that might have been awkward before seem suitable. Wow. Almost dying opened so many new doors, it was incredible. Absentmindedly he smiled, taking a sip of the drink while watching Emmett head over to the bed. While the boy was looking at the camera he stole a quick glance at the door. Neil better not be an idiot tonight and pop in suddenly. He might have to pound the kid later for possible interrupting a moment. Were they have one of those ‘moments’? Well it didn’t feel like the ones he used to go through. Then again, he hadn’t sincerely gone through one of those lovey-dovey gaps in time for awhile. He always pretended he was when he was making out with a girl or leaning against a boy he just met, but he knew those were only to make him feel better about it all. Emmett actually made him feel… warm. Lots of things gave him that weird tingle, but this was a whole different kind. It was the only aid that helped Leon figure out he was actually crushing on his roommate. Gradually he followed after Emmett, sitting on his own bed while he watched the kid play with his camera. He hadn’t been aware that he had the device at the park. Usually Leon was more observant and small things like that didn’t just pass under his nose. Nonetheless, he let his eyes observe the boy with interest as he turned it on. A little captivated in his movements he almost missed his question. “Oh yeah, I’m awesome. Amazingly, I feel actually energized. Kind of like the water woke me up.” Half of that answer was a white lie, but not even a mind-reader would be able to tell. He did feel full of energy, but it wasn’t because of the water. After all, the water had wanted to take him into a deep slumber. What was getting his blood pumping was his fast heart, not used to having a conversation with Emmett. Yeah, they might say the common pleasantries, but it was never very insightful. It wasn’t like Leon learned anything about the boy during them. A brow rose as Emmett commented on a picture he had taken. Of him. With a smirk he got off his bed, leaving his mug on the end table, and came closer to the photographer. Right by his side, laying on the bed with him now, the smirked stayed as his eyes glided over his mirror figure. Releasing a small chuckle he pleasantly said, “Wow, you have some real stealth. I didn’t even realize you took one.” Leon loved photos, especially of himself in a good view. Hah. He even had his t-shirt off still in this photograph. Definitely a flattering shot of him, even if he wasn’t paying attention. “I always think the best pictures are the ones when you’re not suspecting it. The portraits with a whole family smiling are way too cheesy.” Those kinds of pictures bugged the shit out of him. No family was that happy-go-lucky. I mean the siblings in the photo would have to hate each other’s guts, or mom and dad had to get into fights every once in awhile. He always wondered what torment lay under those grinning expressions… Once he took in the picture he realized how close he was actually lying near Emmett. Unlike before on the dock he wasn’t bothered at all about it. If he didn’t want to be too forward he wouldn’t have actually wrapped his arm around the boys waist. Self-restraint. That word echoed in his mind as he got up and walked towards the TV. “Let’s play a movie. How about…” he began to say as his fingers went over the DVDs by the television. “the Sixth Sense.” He smiled at the movie as he took it out of the case and pushed into the DVD player. He had seen the movie before and purely enjoyed it. Leon wasn’t very fond of the gore of today’s movies that was just the predictable slicing and chain sawing of the entire cast. At least the Sixth Sense had an actual plot… Switching on the TV and pushing play he quickly ran to turn off the lights and then ran back to the bed. Somewhat planned, he took a seat on Emmett’s bed, propping his head on some pillows so he was half sitting up. As colors began to flash across the screen with the opening credits he briskly whispered, “Hurry up Emmett, it’s going to start!” Gesturing to him to sit by him… He would force him to, but it was bound to be more comfortable.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

emmett , The moment has come to face the truth. I'm wide awake, and so are you. Do you have a clue what this is? Are you every thing that I miss? We'll just have to wait and see. If things go right we're meant to be. giggling slightly, quietly at Leon's remark about owing him more than cocoa, Emmett shook his head and blew on the warm drink even though it wasn't scorching or anything. It was more of just a space filler, a little something to just take his mind off of this unwanted tingle rising up his spine. And he knew that it wasn't the warm, woolen socks or how pretty the fading sky looked, not that he'd open his mouth to say so. "No, Ah'm 'appy to. Any time you need to be euh, plucked from cold water again, Ah'm 'ere." He smiled over at the boy, taking a large sip, lowering the cup into his lap. "And cocoa ees a fine repayment, Monsieur."
a knowing smirk spread over Emmett's lips as Leon commented on just how great he felt. Emmett had no doubt that Leon was feeling just peachy and as if he was absolutely fine, he just wanted to make sure and take care of him extra. Emmett was, of course, overestimating the real damage, or maybe lack thereof. Leon said that he'd saved his life, yeah yeah yeah, but what if he caught a cold?! Poor Emmett was just so preoccupied with helping everybody perfectly that he often times didn't allow them to put their foot down and say 'no, I'm absolutely fine!' which is why he raised his eyebrows in accompaniment with the smirk, coyly unsure. "Really? Ah mean, falling into cold water for a minute or so can't exactly have you euh, up to one hundred percent." Emmett wasn't asking because he saw a lack of confidence in Leon's words; actually, it was quite the opposite. Leon seemed so comfortable and fine that Emmett got suspicious. Of course, though, our not-so-bright boy here didn't think much or it, not enough to really realize that Leon wasn' everything he'd say. Emmett didn't want to argue, or have Leon misunderstand this slight challenge, so he quickly laughed once to lighten everything up. he was more than flattered when Leon talked about his stealth, smiling as he swung his legs over the side of the bed and propped his head up on his elbows that were resting on his knees in order to watch Leon look at the picture. So maybe he did have some really sly sort of moves, like right now, being able to sneak a few looks at beau Leon. Emmett really did like the picture he'd taken. It was just the slightest bit blurry do to the fact that they were walking fairly briskly, but it added to the picture of the shirtless, profile image of Leon, backdropped against those brilliant changing leaves. "Euh, yes. Ah can't stand overly-staged pictures. Pictures always look so much better when they appear natural." He took his camera back, turned it off, and placed it on the night stand next to him. realizing that Leon was now laying next to him, rather closely, in fact, he shifted a bit awkwardly, a bit unsure quite what to do. He felt his breath hitch a bit as their bodies touched just barely, a simple graze of warm skin. But then that contact was lost once Leon got up to choose a movie. "Ah love dzat movie! My sister 'ad to explain ze ending to me ze first time Ah saw eet, though." He looked down a bit sheepishly after placing his mug on the end table next to Leon's. Yeah, really, Emmett isn't the most intelligent person to have ever walked the Earth, even with those very evident clues; the wife ignoring him, how she always got cold... he shook his head of all thoughts once the lights were dimmed and the movie started to play, watching their small tv fixedly. However, his gaze swithced back to Leon as the boy took a seat on Emmett's bed once more and then gestured for him to come close. Though it wasn't too apparent in the non-light, Emmett grinned, and crawled as much as you can on a twin bed in order to get close to Leon. He pressed their bodies together like before, but this time with much intention. And then, without thinking, he rested his head on Leon's shoulder and placed a hand gingerly on the boy's thigh as the movie continued to begin. emmett gulped once he realized what he'd gotten himself into, but didn't dare take it back. He didn't want Leon to think of him as a coward or that he was unsure of his actions or anything. Not to mention Emmett actually sort of liked this position, how nice and full he felt. "Sorry," he whispered for good measure, even if Leon couldn't hear it. He tried to just take his mind off of what he was doing and just focus on the images playing on the tv screen, but he just couldn't, not with all of these lovely, unexpected things happening...

»Leon» everything is f'ed up straight from the heart tell me what do you do, when it all falls apart gotta pick myself up where do I start 'cause I can't turn to you when it all falls apart Eyes were fixed on the screen as Emmett came near, at first not being really bothered by it. He knew how to act chill and wouldn't overreact that the boy had actually complied to his offer of sitting by him. Leon was nonchalant, Leon was cool, nothing could faze... Feeling a soft hand on his thigh and a head on his shoulder, involuntarily his body stiffened for a few seconds. It took all his effort to persuade it to loosen and soften. This was definitely unexpected how Em so freely pressed his body against his. Didn't the boy hate him or something? What happened to him crushing on Em and not getting any real response? Oh shit! Was this kid leading him on? No, no. Leo was just taking it out of proportion because he was just so stunned, that's all...
Only glancing at the boy once he returned his gaze towards the television, even though his mind wasn't on the movie at all. He was too distracted by his impulsive thoughts, how the French boy thought of him, and how nervous he was feeling that the other boy maybe could hear his racing heart. Biting his lip, unseen in the darkness, he knew he just wanted to touch the other boy. It didn't have to be romantic or anything, just a simple hand on the shoulder or on the hand on his thigh. Leon was a little surprised again as he felt his arms already doing those actions. He hadn't lost such control over his body for such a long time. Quite a few actions he just went with the first thought that came popped into his head, but usually he could think about it a little bit before preforming.
With one arm on the French boy's shoulder, the other on top of his other hand, Leon was afraid to think about anything else. All he knew, he could just think about kissi- Shaking his his head he tried to rid himself of that thought, smiling sheepishly in case Emmett took notice. The last thing he needed was take a step forward and then have to take two back because he misinterpreted the photographers signals. He'd have to see how the boy acted when the movie ended and the screen was dark, as the rest of the room would be...
Looking at the screen, Leo pretended he was watching, captivated in the figures on the screen. Being an excellent actor, it wasn't a challenge at all. Deep inside, he didn't care about the boy freaking out at the dead people appearing in his house or seeing a few sad souls hung within his school. He was reminding himself that in this dorm room he didn't have to worry about the pressures of the outside. Within the school he couldn't show his true feelings for Emmett at all. Not that he was embarrassed about being bisexual. Everyone knew he was and it wasn't like he tried to keep it a secret. After Aja though, he had become less fond of commitment. He liked being able to make-out with one girl one night and then go clubbing with a handsome man the next. Being tied to no one, being single, had so many advantages. If he decided to settle with this boy... well that might not be fun at all. Sure he wouldn't mind being with him, but what happens if he does something stupid?
God, he couldn't go through hurting someone he liked again. Especially his roommate. He have to see his gloomy face the rest of the year, always a little torn up about Leon doing something stupid. The law student doubted he'd be as forgiving as Aja if he ever cheated on him. He'd probably never want to talk to him again... At this point of time the main character was looking at his wife, the ending near, and realizing something shocking. His love, his favorite person in the world, couldn't see him. He really didn't exist and they were separated by life and death. It was the perfect time to allow his eyes to water around the edges, not because of the movie, but because of his thoughts at the time of hurting Em. He could use the excuse of being sentimental, instead of admitting the truth.
Easy. The last thing he needed to do was cry, that would just look stupid, even if no one else could see them. Blinking away the salty liquid, he stopped the water from streaming down in tears. Taking in a deep breath his muscles again relaxed, becoming less stressed as the white words of the credits began to spill across a black background. Letting out a sigh he causally said, “I really wish they made a sequel.”
His tone came out like it had been before the movie, not raptured by his weak moment. Smiling he turned his head back to Emmett, a little amused by how close they were right now. This is what he had been praying for for weeks, and now he wasn't sure what to do with it. Or really, if he wanted to be bold and do the things that were crossing his mind. As the music ended, credits gone, and room now dark because the only glowing light of the television gone, Leo couldn't help but be a little anxious on what might happen next... [lame, and sorry it took so long. x.x][/blockquote][/blockquote]

emmett , The moment has come to face the truth. I'm wide awake, and so are you. Do you have a clue what this is? Are you every thing that I miss? We'll just have to wait and see. If things go right we're meant to be. em couldn't focus on the movie. it only all looked like a dull-colored set with blobs that might have been people moving around. emmett had his contact lenses in, so it wasn't like this was because of his vision. The audio was only a whispering background noise to him, even if it may have been a bit hushed anyway. The movie just felt like a background piece, the kind of orchestral music you put on at dinner parties to fill the air. And this movie was just a filler for the real show, the two snuggling boys on the bed.
at first, Emmett was worried that the other boy didn't want Emmett to be so touchy-feely. They were roommates, and after all, when there's four people sharing a room, you sometimes need your own space. But Emmett's fretting disappeared once he reminded himself that the law student had invited Emmett to sit next to him. And when he remembered that, a fond, content smile spread across his face. He hoped that he didn't look too odd, randomly smiling during a not-exactly-happy movie... though it was pretty normal to see Emmett grinning at the plainest times. the photographer's worries and thoughts were definitely silenced, however, when he felt Leon returning the gestures. One of the other boy's arms rested around Emmett's shoulders, a safe and warm feeling immeditely grasping him. He felt as he had when he changed into frsh, dry clothes, though maybe multiplied by about fifty thousand. And then Leon's hand rested on Emmett's own. That's when Emmett started to get nervous, that prickly, alarming sweat starting to emerge all over. He reached his free hand up to wipe at his forehead quickly, an awkward laugh slipping out as he lowered his hand again. He wasn't sure if he liked Leon or not, so why was he suddenly feeling all anxious and hot all over? He didn't like him. Yes he did. Did he? His mind and his heart constantly fought, common sense and attraction and knowledge all tangled up. he didn't know. And maybe that was worse than liking or disliking the boy. It was easy to say "Okay, I like him." or the other way around. But being indecisive, to see both sides, the pros and cons, and still not being able to choose either way? That was much worse. There was that constant feeling that if you did pick, it was the wrong one, what about the other side? He tried to take a breath, and though it ended up kind of shaky, he was glad for the sudden gust to flood his body and refresh his torn mind. the movie wore on and he grew more and more comfortable with how the pair was posed, ending up feeling very comfortable, actually. And he started smiling again, only to turn to Leon to find him all watery-eyed. Emmett stared, concerned that he'd done something wrong to distress the boy. He opened his mouth to speak, "Are-", before being interrupted by Leon's once-more confident speech. He felt a bit taken aback that the lawyer was so suddenly able to shake off his feelings, if that was the case. emmett simply nodded his head in agreement to Leon's wish. It would be nice for a sequel since the movie was so fantastic, but at the same time, how would they do it? Could it even live up to this one? Emmett suddenly realized that he didn't care all that much. I mean, yeah, it was a really, really good movie but by no means in his top ten. And not to mention that bigger, more important things were currently on his mind. He abruptly found himself concerned as to whether or not Leon liked him. Before Emmett was concerned about his own feelings, but now? No, it was entirely relevant to Leon. Emmett was going to go on the safe side and say that, yes, he did like Leon... but he wasn't going to waste his time if the feelings were unrequited. that being said, he bit his lip, head and hand still resting comfortably in their respective places. He didn't feel nervous anymore though his voice was shaky as he spoke. "Leon," he paused to lick his lips, "Do you like me?" The temptation to kiss the boy, even just a chaste peck on the cheek, was overwhelming. Though Emmett knew that he couldn't, not after asking such a heavy question. He didn't really want Leon to be swayed by a kiss, though it was kind of pointless thinking so, considering the placement of Emmett's body. I've said it before: not exactly an intelligent thinker.

»Leon» everything is f'ed up straight from the heart tell me what do you do, when it all falls apart gotta pick myself up where do I start 'cause I can't turn to you when it all falls apart Leon stopped breathing for a second, eyes first on Emmett and then dropping to the blankets on the bed. His question was like a stab in the back, surprising and sudden. The boy had took him off guard, not that he should have guessed that anything else might have came out of the French boy's mouth. He would have asked the same question if he was nearly cuddling with another person in the dark. The answer was so obvious, but why was it so hard for him to just plain out admit it? It could be because he was used to hiding it and pretending outside this room that he didn't have any feelings for the attractive boy. It all came down if he wanted to tell the truth or a lie... God he wished he could see the future and see what would happen with both of those options.
On one hand, if he lied and didn't admit to it, he could go on the rest of his life having flings with different people. The law student would never be tied down, and wouldn't have to worry about the consequences of his random love life. No one would be upset if he was out too late, no one would judge him as a jerk if he made a comment on how a girl passing by looked hot, and no one would demand his attention. He'd be his own man, with no baggage or anyone else to take care of. It's the life he lived before Aja and now currently. Did he want to give that up? Could he deal with the idea of being with only one person?
On the other hand, he liked Emmett. Not just a little, but a lot. He knew he wouldn't mind spending the rest of his life with the kid if he had to. Passing up this chance to admit his true feelings could ruin the whole possibility later in time. All he knew, Em could be debating between a few guys and if he said 'no' than he'd cross him off his list and move on. And the issue of being tied down? Maybe that would be better than trying to fill a void by going out with random girls. All they would do was make him happy for one night. Then the envy of watching couples getting ice cream, sitting on the swings next to each other, or like in the park making music with each other would return. Why did this have to be so hard? It should be easy to answer this question.
It felt like it had been hours, but it had only been a few seconds since the question had been thrown on the table. Eyes finally rose back to Emmett, eyes already adjusted to the darkness to see the other boy's face well. Looking into them, to illustrate how truthful he was being, he drew himself closer and admitted, “Yes Emmett, very much...”
Saying his name had a whole different feeling now and he couldn't help but smirk. The cat was out of the bag now. Unlike the other boy, he actually was stunned by how he said it was so much confidence. He hoped it didn't sound like he had rehearsed that or something. Maybe in his dreams, but he wasn't that obsessed that he sat in front of a mirror repeating those four words. With his head already turned his next action couldn't go any smoother. Gently lifting his hand off Emmett's, he raised it so it drifted towards the other boy's face. There the tips softly brushed some of the hair off the French boy's forehead, the feeling causing his own hand to tingle, and then lower his head pressed his lips on the same spot. Leon's whole body felt warm once he touched that bare soft skin and he had to stop himself so he didn't trail down to his lips. The kiss was short, but enough to bring a smile to Leon's face. Pulling back, he let the hand on the forehead glide down Emmett's cheek and than returning to it's spot beforehand. “You can't imagine how long I've waited to do that.” Green eyes watched Em carefully, a little worried how he would react to his motion. Part of him was incredibly delighted that he was able to do it, while the other worried he was moving too fast. Like he said though, he had been waiting for a long time. Ever since he saw the boy he just wanted to kiss him, even if it couldn't be on the lips. [/blockquote][/blockquote]
