When the lore of mythology, religion, spirituality, and the occult from all around the world come out of hiding, humanity knows it is in trouble. Mere months later, the lore has taken over Earth. Humans are a dying breed, almost extinct. Vampires and other creatures who feed on humans are not happy about this. One vampire finds a young woman among the debris of a restaurant and takes her to his eternally dark realm, Castle Stronghold, where he sets her up as queen. He is her bodyguard.
The multidimensional heroes known as the Defenders are deployed by the Powers That Be to maintain order and to beat back the swarming darkness. The leader of these Defenders is Dren Connor McDonnell, a human who was once "the most evil human who ever lived." As the Defenders work at banishing the lore from Earth, Dren falls in love with the queen of Castle Stronghold.
Little does Dren know, his past is about to come back to haunt him. Literally. Traveling forward in time, The Infamous Dren Connor McDonnell and his lover Camille cause the most damage and chaos to Earth. And they are human (mostly). With the Devil on their side, who can stop them?
